one daughter and SIL are Republican, the other daughter and SIL are Democrat.

We don't generally discuss politics

In my house, both my roomie and myself are Independents. We both like to discuss the candidates and the things they stand for.

We don't blindly follow one party, we like to think for ourselves.

When I was growing up with my Grandparents, they were both staunch conservatives and voted mostly Republican, but seeing how the GOP over the past 20 years or so has gone all the way crazy against unions, I'd be willing to bet that my Grandfather would have switched parties, because he was a union man in road construction all his life.

My family is half-rooted in the North and half in the South, so the actual party affiliations would prolly be all over the map.

my parents when they were here, never got involved in politics so they never paid attention to politics or anything which was wise since we dont elect these people and put them in office.

My aunt however,god she is so brainwashed she cant see that the republicans are as corrupt as the democrats,same as her children,they always vote republican they are so brainwashed.Her parents were no doubt republican and now her children have been brainwashed by her and my late uncle because they are republican as well.

they are hopeless in understanding both parties are corrupt,that there is no difference in the two. Anytime I would talk about the evil atrocities of clinton that he was involved in that he was the most corrupt president ever,I got her immediate attention,anytime i talk to her about Obama that he is the worst president ever and most corrupt,she is all ears. However anytime I discussed with her that Bush was the most corrupt president ever,it just went through one ear and out the other with her.

the older generation like her,they are too far gone to be reasoned with.

It's a mix, although they all seem to be fiscal conservatives (not free riders) and live and let live on the social issues, kinda like me. I believe a human life begins at conception and has value which causes some pretty interesting discussions. There are social issues that I've been softened on by listening to their perspectives and knowledge.

you mean to say that your kids have been duped same as my aunt into thinking that there is a difference in the two parties,they seriously dont understand that it is really a ONE PARTY SYSTEM designed to look like two so they think they have a choice? they seriously dont understand that elections are rigged and we dont elect these people?

are you SERIOUS? I know how kids dont listen to their parents so you should find someone who understands that and get them educated.or betrer yet,just tell them to do a google search such as its a one party system,something like that,anything to wake them up already.

i assume you have seen it? it really should not be called the obama deception since it talks about how BOTH parties are corrupt and that the bankers are the ones who run the country which both parties answer to.

What kind of reasoning is that, all the candidates are far from perfect. You stop making judgments on the candidates, weighing the good and bad, you stop being an informed voter. You're a Democrat, no doubt.

Mostly Dem. Politics is a frequent subject of dinner talk and it is almost always cordial. Occasionally one of the far off cousins will say something anti gay that gets a chilly response but other than that we are pretty civil.
