The fact that the story has turned to it being a Ukrainian missile(s) that hit Poland just goes to show why we should never jump to conclusions without real evidence, especially when it comes to issues of war. That said, I’m not sure we still have all the facts. Regardless, it is interesting that those who reflexively called for Article 5 to be invoked against Russia are not calling for the same against Ukraine in light of this new turn in the story. Not that they should, tragic accidents will happen in war, which is why NATO, the West, and the regional powers, such as Poland, near Ukraine and Russia should be working toward mediation and diplomacy between the two rather than endlessly stoking tension and prolonging the conflict.
