I remember doing what I had to do to cover myself and my family... coming up from nothing, I used my personal character and took responsibility of.... working 2 jobs when I had to... choosing the Army option because of the benefits and training.. .learning and advancing in my career... making myself a wanted commodity to gain what I wanted and needed for my family

Medical expense account won't cover you if you get cancer, unless you saved hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some people's insurance don't cover everything. That's one of the problems with our system today. Or if you had a pre existing condition, it could bankrupt you or make it impossible to ever save enough to retire. You didn't ask for that condition and it shouldn't be your responsibility to pay hundreds of thousands. If the costs are unaffordable, we need to share the risk like we do with car insurance or home owners insurance. And if a tornado hits your home, it should't ruin you. You should be covered. But many in katrina were not.

right now, our government already pays for a great deal of all of our healthcare, EVEN THOSE THAT GET THEIR POLICIES thru their jobs....because our federal government gives the companies that pay a portion of our healthcare a tax credit ....a deduction for these costs where they do not have to pay any of their taxes due for these items...they chose to give companies a "deduction" for those costs....

so, if i am a worker who pays taxes but does not have an employer that offers a reasonable healthcare plan....I am PAYING with my taxes, for those of you that get insurance from your companies who get the tax break....

in addition to these healthcare costs that our government pays for already....it pays for ALL of the healthcare costs of seniors, it pays all the healthcare costs for children thru SCHIP, it pays all of the healthcare costs for the extreme indigent thry MEDICAID, it also pays all of the healthcare for all Military and all military family members, it also pays the healthcare for all Veterans and their spouses that were lifers, and the healthcare for disabled vets.....and the gvt with our taxes also pays for all of the healthcare for all of the government employees, and for all of the congress members and senate members and their families.... state gvernment pays healthcare costs for all of these employees too, like teachers, firemen, police, judges, court stenographers....

FOR GOODNESS SAKES, there are NOT that many people left out that the government, with OUR TAXES, don't go to pay for....IS THERE?

it costs less than 1.5% to administer social security....the most efficiently run program of the federal government, as far as administration costs...this is much better than most private retirements....
