44 sworn in to 2nd- term twelve minutes ago

Now that President Obama's (praise be unto Him!) first term is up, he is no longer bound by that term's promise to try to bring compromise to Washington.

It didn't work. It takes two to tango.

Now he can govern more aggressively.

Oh come on Willow!!! :nono: The people have spoken

anyway, heres some interesting facts about inaugurations (theres more if you click the link):

Why January 21? | Inauguration of the President
Why January 21?

The 20th Amendment to the Constitution, which changed the beginning of a Presidential term from March 4 to January 20, was ratified in 1933, and took effect for President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s second term in 1937.
When Inauguration Day Falls on Sunday

Only six times in the nation's history has the constitutionally-mandated date for a Presidential Inauguration fallen on a Sunday. January 20, 2013 will be the seventh time, and following historical precedent, the public ceremony will be held at the U.S. Capitol on Monday, January 21, 2013. In a tradition that dates back to 1917, the White House will likely arrange a private swearing in before noon on January 20, 2013.
61 million is not the people you fucking shit stain.
It's a HUGE majority of the voters.

Now stop blubbering.

Trivial factoid: After Obama's swearing in tomorrow, he will tie with FDR who, until tomorrow, was the only president in history to have been sworn in four times.

:)

... As you are a numbers person.. Question and simple answer please.

If the Pres. missed noon for the sworn in jolly event. What would happen?

Keep it simple.

It's less votes than he got last time. But it was enough. America deserves every speck of gloom coming in the next four years.

Btw, the only ones I've seen blubbering were Obama voters who saw their paychecks last week.

Edit: what bigreb said.

Don't be so sure...

I expect Donald Trump to barge in at any minute with proof that Obama is not an American

Agreed, he was too accommodating/open to compromise in his 1st-term which only allowed Repubs to stall & stall some more.

Looks like Grandpa cannot wait for Biden to become President.

He would be 73 years old when sworn in. Thanks but not gonna happen
