Firstly, this is written by Scott Jennings, a conservative.

Secondly, there are plenty of people on both sides of the debate trying to force others to accept their way. This isn't abnormal, this isn't freaky. It's just how it's always been.

That's what DEMOCRACY (even if the US's "democracy" is pretty weak) is all about. It's about different sides fighting it out.

I doubt most people in most countries would accept Socialism. Mostly because of human ineptitude rather than anything else. Competition is there to stop the ineptitude having a big impact.

"Democracy" American style. If you look at countries with proper democracy, like Germany, you'll see far more viable choices than two political parties.

The US's third party (it's debatable which one it is, but this is an example), the Libertarians. They have had zero presidents, they currently have zero federal Senators, zero Federal members of the House, zero state governorships, zero state upper house members, two state lower house members, zero anything in the territorial arena, and 223 other elected officials.

In Germany the AfD, founded in 2013, have 88 seats in the federal Bundestag (where the power is, they got 94 seats but some people left the day after the election). They have 243 seats in regional parliaments (out of 1,868 seats in total) and 11 in the EU parliament.

Spot the difference.

This doesn't take into account the gerrymandering that is RIFE in the US, the fact that the Constitution makes people in smaller states have more power per vote, and the Electoral College literally disenfranchises like half the country before anyone's even begun.

When the dot.com bubble burst, it resulted in a mild recession, not the total collapse of the economy. When W's Housing Bubble burst, it took the deregulated banking industry and Wall Street brokerages with it, and the cascading dominoes nearly took down the world economy. Quite a feat.

The same thing didn't happen under Donald Trump because after 2008, the rest of the world fiscally insulated itself from any future dealings with American fiscal scams, like "derrivatives", and tightened banking regulations around the world.

Donald Trump lifted most of Obama's restrictions off Wall Street and the banking industries, cut taxes while running a billion dollar deficit, and crashed the economy yet again. Yes there's a pandemic, but if Trump hadn't cut taxes, and spent like a drunken sailor during the first 3 years of his administration, you would have have more resources to deal with the pandemic.

And if Trump hadn't let the virus run free throughout the nation, you wouldn't be paying the costs of testing and treating the more than 30 million Americans who have been sickened by the virus. People are leaving hospital owing $1 million in copays. Think what the total cost for their treatment has been. Multiply that by millions of hospitalizations. What's the REAL price tag for Trump's policies? Beyond the 550,000 dead Americans.

As previously pointed out, the government had very little to do with the dot.com bubble which was a result of the expolitation of the internet for business and opportunties, unlike the Housing Bubble which W had an active hand in creating with the American Dream Downpayment Act in 2003.

When the dot.com bubble burst, it resulted in a mild recession, not the total collapse of the economy. When W's Housing Bubble burst, it took the deregulated banking industry and Wall Street brokerages with it, and the cascading dominoes nearly took down the world economy. Quite a feat.

The same thing didn't happen under Donald Trump because after 2008, the rest of the world fiscally insulated itself from any future dealings with American fiscal scams, like "derrivatives", and tightened banking regulations around the world.

Donald Trump lifted most of Obama's restrictions off Wall Street and the banking industries, cut taxes while running a billion dollar deficit, and crashed the economy yet again. Yes there's a pandemic, but if Trump hadn't cut taxes, and spent like a drunken sailor during the first 3 years of his administration, you would have have more resources to deal with the pandemic.

And if Trump hadn't let the virus run free throughout the nation, you wouldn't be paying the costs of testing and treating the more than 30 million Americans who have been sickened by the virus.
