A Call to Arms Part 1

Men wage war for various reasons at various times. While some are compelled by patriotism or religious beliefs, others still are driven by ambition or lust for power. Whatever the underlying reason for war, it is powerful enough to cause an individual to risk their life for it.

In any battle, in any war, the possible loss of one’s life is implied. There has never been a war waged without casualties, and every individual who enlists does so with the full knowledge that it may very well mean their life.

Physical war is bloody, brutal, and taxing in every way possible. What believers seem to have forgotten over the years is that spiritual warfare is just as brutal, just as taxing, and just as ruthless as any war in the physical. Spiritual warfare also carries greater far reaching consequences than war in the natural does, because the consequences of spiritual warfare are eternal in their scope.

Wherever I happen to be on any given Sunday it seems I hear more about the victory party after the war, than I do about the war itself anymore. Preachers don’t like to preach on spiritual warfare, parishioners don’t like to hear about spiritual warfare, and so we focus on the hereafter, on that moment beyond time when the last sword has been swung and the last blow has been struck, utterly failing to prepare or even make the individual aware of the war they are currently embroiled in.

If you call yourself a son or daughter of God, then you are at war. Since the fact that you are already at war is a foregone reality and you have no say in the matter, would it not be wise and prudent to learn all you can about your enemy and about the weapons you have at your disposal?

Would it not be wisdom itself to learn how we can defend ourselves, and even go on the offensive against an enemy who has already made it perfectly clear that he will take no prisoners?

Even though the spectator stands are overflowing and the warriors on the field of battle are decreasing in number at an alarming rate, we who remain cannot give up the fight. We cannot lay down our arms, we cannot take off our armor, we cannot surrender to the enemy, for if we do we will be counted among the rebellious and disobedient, those who ought to have known what it is to stand, to fight, and to overcome an enemy who fears our General, and who has given us the privilege and right to walk in His authority.

Revelation 12:10-11, “Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

We read these words and somehow they sound hollow to our ears. We read these words and do not see ourselves in the role of those who did not love their lives to the death, those who overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the power of their testimony. We always think it is referring to another, to someone else, to a different group of believers, a different generation, or a different continent perhaps.

We cannot fail to see the simple profundity of these verses. The only means by which this group of overcomers was identified is that they were brethren, and they knew the weapons of their warfare, they knew the power of the blood of the Lamb, and they, to the last, forfeited their lives for the great high calling of being a follower of Jesus.

If battle finds us unprepared, if the enemy finds us defenseless, if we find ourselves standing on the battlefield with no weapons of either defense or offense, know that our ill preparedness was not God’s fault but our own. We have been warned and repeatedly so to prepare, to put on our armor, to know how to wield the power granted to us by the blood of the Lamb, and if we have failed to do these things, or believed that they somehow did not pertain to us, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Ephesians 6:10-13, “Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

WHAT?

sorry word, my wife isnt my enemy. I would sacrifice myself before I would deliberately hurt her

Stupid people don't understand who their enemy is. If they look into a mirror, they still don't know who their enemy is.
I interpret this to mean when we look in the mirror we see our own worst enemy...ourselves...yet we do not recognize.

Yes, this is where Jezebel resides and confuses the minds of sinners. Once God destroys our flesh, we are freed from our enemy. Now go read the prophecies and they'll make more sense to you.

Genesis 6
12: And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.
13: And God said to Noah, "I have determined to make an end of all flesh; for the earth is filled with violence through them; behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

The next earth event to destroy the rest of man's flesh will be hot molten lava that comes out of the earth and melts the crust.

Isaiah 24
18: He who flees at the sound of the terror shall fall into the pit; and he who climbs out of the pit shall be caught in the snare. For the windows of heaven are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.
19: The earth is utterly broken, the earth is rent asunder, the earth is violently shaken.
20: The earth staggers like a drunken man, it sways like a hut; its transgression lies heavy upon it, and it falls, and will not rise again.

Isaiah 66
15: "For behold, the LORD will come in fire, and his chariots like the stormwind, to render his anger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16: For by fire will the LORD execute judgment, and by his sword, upon all flesh; and those slain by the LORD shall be many.

2 Peter 3
10: But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.
11: Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,
12: waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be kindled and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire!
13: But according to his promise we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Zephaniah 1
18: Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the LORD. In the fire of his jealous wrath, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full, yea, sudden end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.

Nahum 1
4: He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, he dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither, the bloom of Lebanon fades.
5: The mountains quake before him, the hills melt; the earth is laid waste before him, the world and all that dwell therein.

Revelation 19
17: Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly in midheaven, "Come, gather for the great supper of God,
18: to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great."
19: And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who sits upon the horse and against his army.
20: And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had worked the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur.
21: And the rest were slain by the sword of him who sits upon the horse, the sword that issues from his mouth; and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

Lava contains sulphur so the Lake of Fire is when the whole earth will be nothing but a ball of hot molten lava to end this age. Then the earth will cool down and a new earth will appear for the new generation of flesh that will never be used to deceive God's people again.

Ecclesiastes 1
4: A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains for ever.

Isaiah 40
3: A voice cries: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4: Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.

Yeah, I agree with your assessment. After thinking about it, that too was my conclusion! Thanks Pacer for confirming my train of thought.
It must be tough to consider yourself "the enemy". Where's all the self love anyway?

Unbelievers can't understand their invisible created existence in the mind of our Creator.

Pacer didn't give you any answer. Our Creator did.

But I don't sleep with myself. I sleep with my wife.
You sleep in the same bed with your wife but you very much do the sleeping alone.

Man was created both male and female so in the next age, you will have a mate forever in all your visions and dreams.

Only Adam and Eve were one created man but their offspring were only given one flesh to live in. This explains homosexuality and the various looking flesh that causes man to fear each other. In the next age, we'll all look alike so we won't compare each other's looks and cause us fear. We will live in peace and harmony.

We will take on other forms in our personal visions and dreams so in some dreams, we'll be flying, for example.

But I don't sleep with myself. I sleep with my wife.
You sleep in the same bed with your wife but you very much do the sleeping alone.

Are you sure about that? Avatar and his wife are one flesh according to the bible. Although you don't believe it, I do. So I'd say he is sleeping with his wife.. :eusa_angel:
He sleeps in the same bed but he does his own sleeping.

In the Bible, the Hebrew basar is often translated as "flesh," but however it is interpreted, it always refers to the physical part of humanity. What does it mean, then, that a man and woman become "one flesh" in marriage?

The most obvious way is through sex. This is borne out in 1 Corinthians 6:16 when Paul says even a man with a prostitute becomes one flesh with her. The act of sex is a manifestation of "one flesh" physically and a metaphor for the other ways a married couple joins together.

Your reply reminds me of something Paul said once about the natural man cannot understand the things of the Spirit. As in I am one Spirit with the Lord - so I can discern things by the Spirit of God that you cannot discern through His Spirit although perhaps by other means but even that is far limited to the realm I am operating in, Pacer. On that note, the Lord does have his servants but then again Satan has his servants as well. They do receive powers here on this earth for serving him. Do you think they can really trust Satan to keep his promises of reward in hell to them Pacer? I know they get some power here but is it worth the torment they will suffer later on? Let me tell you a little story that just came to mind.

I remember this woman who was is a prayer warrior - she wrote a book called Divine Revelation of Hell - her name is Mary K. Baxter. She saw this woman was a worker for Satan while being given a tour of hell. I was reading it again the other night. Okay..... Let me look for what she said as I prefer to quote her directly. Oh, here it is. Page 90 Divine Revelation of hell - She writes: Jesus told me, She also was a servant of Satan. She sold her soul to him, and while she was alive, she practiced every kind of evil. Witchcraft is real, said Jesus. "This woman taught and practiced witchcraft and turned many toward the path of sin. Those who were teachers of witchcraft recieved special attention and a greater amount of power from Satan than those who simply practiced it. She was a soothsayer, a diviner and a medium for her master. She gained great favor with Satan for all the evil she committed. She knew how to use the powers of darkness for herself and for Satan. She went to devil - worship services and praised Satan. She was a powerful woman for him. She held a rag doll as if it could help her or as if she could help it. The smell of death filled the place.

This woman, said Jesus, was the equivalent of a preacher for Satan. Just as the true gospel is preached to us by a minister, so Satan has his counterfeit ministers. She had the strongest kind of satanic power, one which she was required to sell her soul to receive. Satan's evil gifts are like the opposite side of the coin of the spiritual gifts Jesus bestows on believers. This is the power of darkness. These workers of Satan work in the occult, witchcraft shops, as palm readers, and in many other ways. A medium of Satan is a powerful satanic worker.

Then she writes of her the Lord told her the following: Many people give their souls to Satan. They choose to serve him instead of Me. Their choice is death unless they repent of their sins and call upon Me. I am faithful, and I will save them from their sins. Many also sell their souls to Satan thinking they will live forever. But they die a horrible death. Satan still thinks he can overthrow God and disrupt God's plan, but he was defeated at the cross. I took the keys away from Satan, and I have all power in heaven and earth, Jesus said.

After this woman died, she went straight to hell. The demons brought her before Satan, where in anger she asked why the demons had control over her, ( in hell ) for on earth she thought she controlled them. There they had done her bidding. She also asked Satan for the kingdom he had promised her. Satan kept on lying to her even after her death on earth. He said he would restore her life and use her for his purposes again. By deceit she had gotten him many souls, so his lies sounded reasonable to her. But at the last, Satan had laughed and scorned her. He told her, "I deceived you and used you all those years. I will never give you my kingdom.

__________

That particular woman had brought Satan 500 souls and for that he had her slammed to the ground by demons who then tormented her as they did all the rest...worms crawled in and out of her rotting flesh. What a fool she was for believing the Father of lies. Don't you think, Pacer? You might be interested in that book seeing as you are a book reader. Divine Revelation of Hell by Mary K. Baxter. I find it to be scripturely accurate throughout.

I am well aware of the 'things of the spirit' and I am certainly not going to argue intepretations. You Jeremiah insist the Bible be interpreted literally; you can't get any more literal than a direct translation from Hebrew. Do not cherry pick which verses should be considered literal when it is convenient for you. Bottom line is everyone has there own consciousness. You sleep alone as you dream alone as you die alone, etc.

I'm a bit surprised that a discussion of my wife and I sleeping together in the same bed has generated as much discussion as it has. I never claimed she slept for me. I said she slept with me in the same bed.
