Easy

Because McConnell has already declared he is not impartial in violation of the oath Senators must swear

McConnell has already admitted he is conspiring with the White House on how the trial should be conducted

Trump has pending lawsuits defending his right to withhold records and block testimony. This applies directly to the charge of obstructing Congress

All they have done so far is VOTE on it. He is NOT IMPEACHED until the Lower House presses charges. That is done by giving it to the Senate for trial.

I think her waiting to make sure the trial is fair is a great idea.

I think that waiting until after the next election and if the senate control changes to democratic then it be the time to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

I think it's a fantastic idea to not send it now to force trump to run next year without being able to say he has been acquitted.

Pelosi is a master with politics.

mcconnell didn't vote on a Supreme Court judge for over a year to wait to get a republican president to fill that seat. You and your far right radical extremists cheered it.

Now the shoe is on the other foot and you people are whining like little babies.

Karma is a bitch isn't it?

Deal with it.

The concept of a fair trial only applies to the defendant - not the prosecutor - you blithering jewel of callosal ignorance.

In an impeachment trial, a fair trial is both for the defendant and the victims..

The alleged victims are we the people in this case.

Humm, NO. The House must make its case against the president. They haven't, so Pelosi is doing nothing

The House needs only probable cause to make their case to charge the President With articles of impeachment.

The TRIAL is where all the evidence, both damming and exculpatory is presented in full, because the jury needs this info to convict,

Beyond a reasonable doubt.

A much heavier burden of proof is required, thus more evidence, again, on both sides, is required for an impartial, honest, verdict.

Let him run as an Impeached President......Perfect
Yep.....obviously you are a typical Democrat.
You don't know the difference between right and wrong.
You only care about what your leaders can get away with.

The court is hearing this case.....and of course the criminals in the House couldn't wait till they ruled on it.....so they hurried up and held the vote so that it would appear more legitimate. The Supreme Court could rule that the obstruction of congress charge is unconstitutional. Alan Dershowitz explains how the Supreme Court just 'pulled the rug out of part two of impeachment'

She knows that as soon as the impeachment articles go to the Senate, the Republican run Senate will dispense with it as quickly as possible. Mitch McConnel has already said he is not unbiased and he will work closely with Drumph and his lawyers over the course of the trial. The Congress has impeached him. If he is not convicted by a Republican biased Senate, he looks innocent. As long as he is impeached, that hangs over his head. Leaving him impeached but not indicted or unindicted leaves the impeachment hanging over his head. A good plan.
A tabled Resolution is Invalid, so actually, President Trump is not impeached. They only voted on an impeachment resolution, which if they send it to The Senate will end in an acquittal. In either case, it's not actually an impeachment.

Without sending it to The Senate, it cannot be voted on. Therefore it's as if the entire thing never happened.
Hilarious. He is impeached. Get over it as Mulvaney says. You don't understand the process. If the Congress votes to impeach him, he in impeached. End of. It hasn't been tabled, btw, they just haven't sent it to the Senate yet because McConnell won't agree to having the normal conditions of a Senate trial, first and foremost an unbiased judge and jury.

It is her business to follow her oath of office and represent the people of the United States. "The House members, who are given the collective title of managers during the course of the trial, present the prosecution case, and the impeached official has the right to mount a defense with his or her own attorneys as well. Senators must also take an oath or affirmation that they will perform their duties honestly and with due diligence." They are essentially the jurors in a trial and are not to prejudge the articles of impeachment. They will not perform their duty as jurors with due diligence as long as they declare, which they have, that they are already prejudiced against them. The Republicans want a Kangaroo trial...they are not going to take the trial seriously. The people of the United States have a right to expect the Senate to do a proper job and perform their duties with honesty and due diligence. Until McConnell sets out how the trial will do that, Pelosi has every right to hold off until he does. McConnell has made it clear he intends to be part of the defense of the impeached official (Trump) rather than act as an impartial juror.
