Alternative To The Electoral College

Lefties are always criticizing how we vote for president with the electoral college so I have two alternate ideas:

1. We've got 50 states and a small handful of territories so we give them all one vote each based on the popular votes in those areas.

2. We've got 3,244 counties in the country so we give each county one vote each plus that small handful of territories and they all get one vote each based on popular votes in those areas

Why not just give each person a vote that counts the same as everyone else's vote?

Congress is already skewed in favor of the less populated ( and thus mostly GOP) states.

Does the presidency really need to be skewed in their favor as well?

Scared you couldn’t win a fair vote?

Unless small population states agree to give up some of their influence, it is not going to happen

It will never go away, and I am not sold that it should. All I stated is that even the EC is not a fair system, but fairness is not always the goal.

The less populated states have fewer electoral votes.

But they have more EVs than their population warrants.
Wyoming has 3 EVs for a population of 600,000

My county has more people than that

again stupid 30 out of 50 states went to Trump and he lost. You whiners don't have a point.

Yet, Trump won in 2016 despite having 3 million fewer votes
Showing the power of those small population states
