America's greatness is its working classes not "wealth" creators

No, Bush92, your statement is useless.

Your simplistic pontifications, a la EconChick or NLT or HBH, mean nothing at all.

"No sooner is the exploitation of the labourer by the manufacturer, so far, at an end, that he receives his wages in cash, than he is set upon by the other portions of the bourgeoisie, the landlord, the shopkeeper, the pawnbroker, etc."
- Karl Marx
The philosophy of victim hood. Could be ripped from the pages of a Barack Obama speech.

Jakey Fakey's a socialist. Now it all makes sense. You're not a Republican you fucking liar.
They are all socialist now Econ. Democratic Party of Truman or even JFK is dead.

Not socialists, social Democrats, and there is a difference. They don't want Cuba, they want Sweden.

They're becoming bolder about what they want, which is good, we need to have the conversation. This thread is a good example.

Socialism is socialism. It restricts the free market.

It's not black and white. You're not non-socialist one day and socialist the next. There is socialism in our system right now, if we get literal. The market will always be restricted to some degree. It's a matter of degree, and I certainly would not put Sweden and Cuba in the same category.

The fact that the Rich spend their money is not a consolation prize for the oppression of the working class.

What oppression?

The oppression that results in a nation with the wealth of the US having millions of working class households needing 2 fulltime jobs to keep up with the increasing costs of middle class American way of life, for starters.

Then why don't we cut back on the excessive, multi-tiered tax burden that is placed on people, lets start there.

The effective tax rate is down around the 1950's level. We can't tax cut our way out of this problem.

I thought the 50s were the liberal golden age when marginal tax rates were 90%.

Liberals feel that the free market "victimizes" everybody. Always lurking like a monster to exploit the poor working class proletarians. See how North Korea treats the working class. Total government control of economy. People in North Korea have free-housing, health care, education. Liberal utopia.

Libertarianville in modern America has never existed.

There is no such entity as a free market in the US.

Tell us about the evils of social democracy in Western Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Western Europe, Canada, and so forth, please.

Because it is simplistic. What business did you start Jakey? A medical marihuana shop? You can open a small business and love your workers. But bottom line is that capitalism built this nation. The whole reason we had an economic boom in the 1888's and 1890's was " laissez faire" economics. Now did this produce social ills? Yes. But we dealt with them. Why do people feel they are victims in 2014? It is what it is.

People pay 60% taxes and it restricts investment. You left out Greece, and outside of Germany, Western Europe has been contracting with austerity because socialism does not work. The "Iron Lady" was correct.

The wealth creators are not the CEOS etc.

The wealth creators are the inventors, the producers, the manufactures and their employees, and the consumer classes that buy their products.

We have a group of far right folks here who want to redefine terminology and rewrite history without being called out.

The far right revisionists are not going to succeed. Not only do their own peers correct them, the millennials will force them out..
And socialism restricts the ability to produce those "creators, inventors, producers, and manufacturers."

I would not put Sweden in the same category of the United States of America. Sweden has a high tax rate.

Yes, we do have socialism here. But let's stop the spread of the cancer.

Does someone have their hands tied behind their backs and a cloth in their mouths holding them hostage??????

Stop the whining. I know so many people who've pulled themselves up by the boot straps that would laugh you out of the room it's not funny.

As for "TOLD THEY DON'T DESERVE".....did your socialist friends invite you to the Board to help them with their socialist rants? No one of any seriousness tells workers to not strive for more, except maybe some Democrat or Union hustler. Stop your hyperbole.

I'll take Overreactions for $1000, Alex.

I'm sorry if it's whining to want a full-time job to provide a basic standard of living for people.

Actually, I'm not sorry. And that's not hyperbole.

It's whining when you both want to eat the cake and have it uncut and sitting pretty on the table.

You want to lower income inequality and you also want to flood the labor market with peasants who vote Democrat. YOU CAN'T HAVE BOTH.

Nope. I just want lower income inequality.

Washington Post, note the sentence in BOLD:

People at the bottom aren’t well-off, but they’re better off than they once were. Among the official poor, half have computers, 43 percent have central air conditioning and 36 percent have dishwashers, report Meyer and Sullivan. These advances are especially impressive because the massive immigration of unskilled Hispanic workers inflated the ranks of the poor. From 1990 to 2007, the entire increase in official poverty was among Hispanics.

China_jobs_table.jpg

When, on the years depicted on this graph, did Democrats try to stop the loss of blue collar jobs to China? Democrats, "party of the working man." Tax penalties on corporations that leave are too late now. Barn door left open under Clinton and continued to Obama.

Nope. I just want lower income inequality.

Then start speaking up about deporting 20 million infiltrators and stopping all legal immigration until some labor market benchmark, agreed to by politicians, is reached. Maybe a labor force participation rate of 70% once again opens up legal immigration.

Until liberals start demanding deportations, they don't have legitimacy do claim a desire to close income inequality. Do job one and then move to job two.

You can't have one without the other.....
