Are We Supposed To Harden Walmarts and Grocery Stores, Too?

How can both sides come to an agreement when they don't view the problem as the same?
Until you reintroduce the concept of "common ground" back into the halls of congress, then there will never be a solution. The perspective is always different from the other trench.

Ergo, what I've been saying all along.

There is no common ground. The left is willing to demonize whatever is needed to get what they say they want but they always expand what they want along the way.

This has dug a trench so deep the right refuses to talk because they don't believe the left wants that common ground.

It sucks. But it's the way it is.

And yet Florida was able to reach a bipartisan agreement.

Because people in Florida aren't so readily divided by political hatred and obstinance. They have been shown there is a path to a middle ground. You aren't going to find that in all 50 states.

Florida disagrees. They found common ground lead by Republican law makers.
Perhaps, the law(s) didn't infringe on their 2nd Amendment rights. Perhaps the people were sufficiently educated about the bills that were being introduced. The lawmakers probably got sufficient leeway from their constituents to pass them.

There's apparently a lot you don't know about political mechanics.

It's a tragedy, to be honest.

The right wing want open gun battles in society everyday. The answer to guns in their veiws is more guns.
Wow. Tell us how you really feel.

Let's take a look at what Portugal did regarding drugs as a counter to this argument.

In the past, they had a serious issue with drug-related crime, until one day they didn't. They legalized all forms of drugs and the crime suddenly plummeted.

In sum, legal gun ownership is a successful counter to illegal gun ownership. The moment you start trying to make everything illegal, then everything becomes a crime.

Let's dumb this down for you:

When someone punches you, you punch back. You use what's readily available to you as a weapon. Your fists.

The same concept applies to guns. This time though, the person is less likely to shoot at you if they know you can shoot back.
When the stakes are higher, everyone is a little more polite and careful.

Well thoughts and prayers by the right wing hasn't worked yet.

But it works so well for the pope.

In his bullet proof little mobile.
