They sought it, though, by crossing the border illegally. Then asking for it. Some folks do that in Canada, too. Probably they don't want to wait in line. ANYWAY, doesn't matter, separating parents from young children is absolutely unconscionable when they have family detention centers to house 3,000 already. If they've got more than 3,000, maybe they should have thought of that BEFORE they started holding onto everyone who walked across, regardless of whether they had kids. Take their names, their pictures, their fingerprints and send them back in the direction they came from. Like they used to. If they come back again, THEN arrest them.

Unaccompanied children are placed in homes of people who sponsor them and that includes the kids actual parents.
