But hey, the payload that this balloon carried was the size of a major airliner and in the thousands of pounds, This could very easily been a nuclear weapon of great size. 50Kt or greater and we let this thing travers the US at 50,000 feet. Perfect altitude for an EMP detonation.

Two incursions above Hawaii were stopped by THOR on US Navy ships BEFORE they could pass over the military installations there according to the US Navy. Thier electronics were destroyed and failed to transmit once they were hit with the weapon.

The DNI, DOD, and others were unaware of any such flyovers of the lower 48. They are on record as this lie never happened.

Using other technologies, we have today this same weapon could be dangled at 100,000 feet easily as the Chinese have already displayed that they can do.
