What happens is that they send cannon fodder type soldiers to shoot obnoxiously and wildly for three days to encourage Ukraine soldiers to shoot back.

Then because they have been being watched by drones for three days. they follow the Ukranians to see where they are precisely. Then they come back in force with cannon fodder soldiers out front as a distraction and shield while good soldiers are behind them that can aim and have better equipment and more variety of equipment like RPGs, large caliper machine guns and etc.

That's why it's taking Russia so long....the Ukranians have an EXTENSIVE underground bunker system using basements in every building that has one. They also have encrypted radios and stay in constant contact with each other and can call for support in a heartbeat. They are still getting supplies, food, and water. They also are great about boobytrapping buildings and hideouts.
Meaning it takes 5 days to find a company of Ukraine soldiers and chances are you will only wound one. The Russian shelling of the city is pointless. But it does keep the buildings destroyed so the Russian troops won't go in and get killed.
