Biden insults Christians

Hanukkah means 'dedication'. Apparently, It can also mean 'education'. It is a Jewish festival/holiday commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean. Kind of interesting if you care to indulge in learning more, link.

Hmm,.. interesting. So is that way Hanukkah and Christmas are at the same time? Because of the pagan wintertime festivities?

Lots of big religious holidays towards the end of the year. :dunno: Like it or not, it's a part of the American culture. Many religions are celebrated around this particular period of time.

On her last speech as Speaker - Nancy Pelosi wished everyone "Happy Holidays" - and then went on to mention all of the holidays celebrated in December.
Except one.
Christmas.
A typical Washington Democrat

No...
Hanukkah is a Jewish celebration of a siege of the Temple that was successful.

Christianity is a sect of Judaism.

Antiochus Sieged Jerusalem and the Temple after Judas Maccabeus led a revolt from Roman rule. They didn't have enough oil for the lamp in the Temple but it burned anyway for an extra 7 days. (Miracle by God)

The Jews celebrated this miracle every year and in scriptures its called the festival of lights but also known today as Hanukkah.

There is absolutely nothing pagan about celebrating Hanukkah.

It's a festival of lights concerning a miracle of a lamp in the Temple that didn't have enough oil to burn but burned anyway...and the occasion when Jesus said "I am the light of the world "

The first Chanukah was after Antiochus IV Epiphanies had defiled the temple and tried to Hellenize the Jews. When the Jews redidicated the temple they celebrated with Chanukah. See Book of Daniel written in 164 BC.

Biden's words....is this really insulting?

And we look to the sky, to a lone star, shining brighter than all the rest, guiding us to the birth of a child — a child Christians believe to be the son of God; miraculously now, here among us on Earth, bringing hope, love and peace and joy to the world.

Yes, it’s a story that’s 2,000 years old, but it’s still very much alive today. Just look into the eyes of a child
on Christmas morning, or listen to the laughter of a family together this holiday season after years — after years of being apart. Just feel the hope rising in your chest as you sing “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” even though you’ve sung the countless times before.

Yes, even after 2,000 years, Christmas still has the power to lift us up, to bring us together, to change lives, to change the world.

The Christmas story is at the heart of the Christmas — Christian faith. But the message of hope, love, peace, and joy, they’re also universal.

This is what Biden said? And this idiot is angry because he didn't say the exact word "Christ"?

He referred to the Christian story in every way, except mentioning the name "Christ".

Wow, talk about snowflakes looking for a reason to be offended. It is like that hoopla about Starbucks cups a few years ago.

You posted the speech pointing this out before so it would seem she and others do not understand that.

Go figure.

The people claiming to be Christians on this forum have no actual knowledge of the religion they claim

You are assuming these people know that Christ and the Son of God are one in the same.

So what? Either buy their coffee or don't. Expecting everyone else to promote your religious holiday is ridiculous.
I don't expect promotion....but I don't expect active and open hostility towards it either by someone who makes their living by having a positive popular opinion by the masses of people who do believe and celebrate.
