Biden; You'll Know My Opinion On Packing The Courts After The Election

That is a question that MUST be answered directly by Biden before the election. Packing the Supreme Court is the Democrat's keystone to their plan to ramrod through every Extreme "progressive" policy on their dream list.

Right now, it is all hypothetical.

Regardless, Biden cannot pack the courts
Only Congress can add additional seats.

The President can only fill vacancies

Moron, he nominates the justices....you dope...
Just like Trump did.....Fill a vacancy
Trump did not create the vacancy, neither would Biden

It almost certainly depends on how McConnell acts in the next few weeks with the election going on and the judiciary committee republicans getting covid. If he jams through this nomination after Trump loses the election and with the senate maybe changing hands Biden has every right to correct matters,

You don't have to worry about it. She will be confirmed before the election. You can't stop it.
Well then since being a ruthless partisan bastard that changes the rules to suit them is the real "McConnell rule" you will have no right to complain when two extra justices get added.
Waah waah waah typical whiny liberal
Uh huh, your greatest fear is "whiny liberals" using republican tactics.
What rule says Trump can't fill a SC vacancy?
What rule says Democrats can’t create additional Court seats?

What rule did McConnell change?
Have you been asleep? In 2016 McConnell said the senate should let the people decide supreme court justices in a presidents final year.

Linsey Graham even said to save the tape of his saying that, and they can hold him to his word.

Then by 2020, every republican reversed the McConnell rule of 2016.
Did he say that? Please quote him. Furthermore, when did McConnel acquire the authority to unilaterally adopt such rules?

So Lindsey Graham has unilateral authority to determine the rules of the Senate?

He chairs the Judicial Committee
His Negative vote would block the appointment

Congress created a 10th circuit in 1863 during the Civil War, and it briefly had a 10th Supreme Court Justice.
In 1866, Congress passed the Judicial Circuits Act, which shrank the number of justices back down to seven and prevented President Andrew Johnson from appointing anyone new to the court. Three years later, in 1869, Congress raised the number of justices to nine,

We are dealing with the scum of the earth ,, liar's cowards ,traitors ,republicans
Dims are the scum of the Earth. Kamala Harris just proved that. Every word that came out of her mouth was a lie.
BRI I thought you'd be in Mich trying to kidnap the Gov

I would expect, if biden does win, that, yes, they would try to add more seats to the courts. Left wing radio has been talking about it the last two days, and have been pretty much encouraging it.

That is just one of the things they will do to consolidate their power............

If you have friends over seas in Asia....you should suggest they leave....China will get a free hand from kamala harris if she wins....

Its discouraging that we are fighting over a branch of government that is supposed to be wholly unbiased. The courts should never respect political ideology. Justice should be blind and impartial. Yet, here we are, week after week, fretting and arguing about having democrat or republican judges appointed to scotus.

Personally, I'd be in favor of a law that says if you are a judge, you are not allowed to disclose your political leanings, especially if you think you might have aspirations being on the Supreme Court.

Also, to avoid this whole stacking the deck thing, curious what you all would think about writing a new law setting limits on how many scotus justices there can be. The cotus doesn't say anything about how many there should be. I think 9 is good. We should make a law that says there will always be 9 justices. No more, no less.

Also, that law should state that if there is a vacancy, the president is obligated to nominate, and the senate shall be obligated to hold hearings, without delay.

Would clear up a lot of this bickering I would think, no?

No he doesn’t. Only one other president has even considered packing the SCOTUS. Legally replacing a dead justice doesn’t justify this.

Did you support blocking the Obama appointment for a year?

Yep........the Republicans controlled the Senate and they had the Right to not put his anti-American judge on the court....they take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution....and any democrat party judge is a direct threat to the Constitution.

Well, the right wing, generally does too. Kavanaugh obviously is an exception here.

Frankly, I'm of the mindset that if your decisions show an obvious bias, you probably shouldn't be a judge, especially for a lifetime appointment in the highest court in the land.

Again, I believe that all law, from the scotus all the way down to the beat cop should be unbiased and prescribe the law fairly and impartially. Obviously im under no delusion that that will happen perfectly, or even most of the time, but its something we should strive for.

To that end, if your track record shows obvious bias, you are should not be allowed to be on the Supreme Court....of course, even that isn't a good idea. As divided as we are, scotus appointments would be impossible....

Hey, it was an idea...i never said it was a good idea... :p

The old Democrat double standard. They tried to replace a conservative justice with a liberal, but now that the shoe is on the other foot and Republicans are replacing a liberal justice with a conservative Dems are squealing like stuck pigs.
A sitting President tried to fill a vacant seat a year before the election.
Now, Republicans are trying to fill a seat DURING an election

Why? because they could

See how tolerant Dems are if they win next month
A sitting president put forward ONE nominee that the opposing senate found objectionable enough that it didn't even hold hearings. Obama was free to put forward more nominees that would be acceptable compromises, he chose not to. Obama never believed in compromise. He was always an “elections have consequences” and “get to the back of the bus” kind of president.

Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner

Why we need to pack the courts

All Obama had to was nominate a candidate acceptable to the republicans. He chose not to do that. It’s called compromise, something Obama didn’t know how to do.

Democrats DO NOT COMPROMISE they cheat, rig, and scheme. When Dems pretend to compromise its with every intention of backstabbing you on the deal the first chance they get.

There you have it, folks.

Straight from the jackasses mouth. He won't tell you he's going to pack the court. They're already starting to plan it.

DEmocrats are like abused women, they have Stockholm Syndrome.

We don't know what we're voting for, but hey Joe Biden seems like he has it together....lolololololol
Democrats are assclowns....freedom is just too hard for them

Your cocksucking Harry Reid changed everything first.

Fuck off.
