Bo Bergdahl 'Skates'

The guy is not 'mentally ill'. He's a deserter and a traitor. He admitted to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. No one wants a 'pound of flesh' - they want JUSTICE.

I'm not sure, how you define justice. He was put in a situation he never should have been put in to start with because the Army never should have taken him after the CG discharged him on a psych evaluation.

Military makes little effort to punish deserters

There is no crack team of bounty hunters, no elite military unit whose job is to track them down and bring them in.

Despite a rise in desertions from the Army as the Iraq war drags on into a fifth year, the U.S. military does almost nothing to find those who flee and rarely prosecutes those it gets its hands on.

An Associated Press examination of Pentagon figures shows that 174 troops were court-martialed by the Army last year for desertion — a figure that amounts to just 5 percent of the 3,301 soldiers who deserted in fiscal year 2006. The figures are about 1 percent or less for the Navy and the Marines, according to data obtained by the AP under the Freedom of Information Act.

Some deserters are simply allowed to return to their units, while the majority are discharged in non-criminal proceedings on less-than-honorable terms.
Obviously, he Got a slap on the wrist

The military did not uniformly want 14 years in prison; this is what they got of the convicted:

Terrence Russell, a division chief for the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency, developed a 1,200-page transcript from debriefings of Bergdahl that was turned into a database. The information produced reports on tactics used by insurgents and hostage-takers in the region that are still used by the military, Russell said.

Bergdahl received punishment consistent with what other deserters receive

What other deserters got 6 soldiers killed?

He didn't

Just because Crazy Donnie called for his death is not reason to give him a more severe punishment

Many a good soldier didn't run...and fell.

The SOB should have been shot

I say he did five years in hell. I'm OK with the judge's decision. Let him go home to his goofy parents and live in peace.

He did 5 years in hell according to who? Him?

Did any of the Taliban testify at his trial and say that they beat him like a red-headed stepchild?
The spineless coward was there voluntarily… He admired those fuck ups

Senator Murphy called him a hero, not Obama. When did Trump call for life? The white House statement of a few weeks ago was:

The statement said President Donald Trump "expects all military personnel who are involved in any way in the military justice process to exercise their independent professional judgment, consistent with applicable laws and regulations."
Close enough....

He needs to be hunted down, Someone will beat the shit out of him. Hopefully daily

The Army offered -0- about "six dead because of" ; it remains disputed.

Along with the Dishonorable came this:

A punitive discharge deprives Bergdahl of most or all his veterans' benefits.

Good, but they should have deprived him of his ability to breathe.

Why?

Only one soldier was executed for desertion in WWII
No soldiers who deserted in Korea or Vietnam were executed

What did Bergdahl do to warrant execution while thousands of others who deserted in Iraq and Afghanistan were merely discharged?
Treason

So, they would have been killed anyway looking for him had he not deserted? You're a loon, you really are.

"The judge, Col. Jeffrey Nance, sentenced Bergdahl to a reduction in rank, a payment of $1,000 per month for 10 months and a dishonorable discharge, according to multiple reports.

Bergdahl pleaded guilty last month to charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. He faced a maximum sentence of life in prison."

...during war time. The SOB could have ... probably should have ... gotten the death penalty, a life sentence at the very least.

Judge rules no jail time for Bergdahl

You can thank Donald Trump for that. Trump's ill-advised comments left the judge in a position where he had to show he was independent of Trump. If Trump had not opened his mouth and made prejudicial comments, Bergdahl likely would have received a jail sentence.
Not in the era of political correctness, Cowardly behavior is rewarded.

Donnies call for a lynch mob to "shoot him or throw him out of a plane" showed the extreme prejudice being brought against Bergdahl

Don't be surprised if one of Trumps supporters resorts to vigilante justice
The world is better off without bergdahl

The coward's father praised Allah standing next to Obungles and Barry the Fairy nearly wet himself with glee

Again, the military wanted 14 years, but I have read no statements disagreeing with sentence, from military personnel. A horribly emotional case.
