Buh Bye Obamacare

"My first day in office, I'm going to ask Congress to put a bill on my desk getting rid of this disastrous law, and replacing it with reforms that expand choice, freedom, affordability. You're going to have such great health care at a tiny fraction of the cost, and it's going to be so easy."

it's not even close to as bad as Obamacare and all the exceptions they made to special interests

Good for you!

So,what's the plan to replace it with super great, free healthcare for all?

no one said free...good stuff was ing free
just let it die.
Then we will return to the days before ObamaCare, when health care costs were rising even faster.

Good plan!

that is a complete lie....my healthcare was much better and cheaper as per 250 deductible vs like a 1500 under Obamacare

How many are going to lose their insurance?
Tens of tens.

It's zero, Health Care Insurance will still be available to anyone that can afford to foot the bill for the risk they incur.

You can't lose something that was never yours in the first place.
Thank you, Cletus, for that excellent argument against the right to own gjns. It was never yours...it was handed to you by the government. You are the dumbest genius I have ever stepped over!

no it was given by God, read the declaration and the constitution for once...

the govt can go fuck itself

That's the delusion at the core of ACA. It rots the rest of the law from the inside out.
Only because the mandate was poorly implemented.
that's an understatement. it should never have been created. The dems should have sought out bipartisan support and done it right. but noooooooooooooooo all I heard was fk the repubs. and fk em slow.

The Republicans made it very clear that they were not going to work with Obama on this. Obama did talk to some moderate Republicans but pressure was brought to bear on them by the party. The mandate was created by the CONSERVATIVE Heritage Foundation.
that's total bullshit. I'm calling you on that. obammy wanted something and it was different than what the republicans wanted. that's why one negotiates. ever hear of the word before? see you leftist always want things your way only. the world doesn't work that way.

Have you ever heard of the word before. Obama talked with Republicans and they were not interested in compromise. The mandate was a CONSERVATIVE idea. You have no idea what a leftist is. Support for some form of Obamacare is over 50%. If over 50% are leftists, you are in trouble. Also waiting for the Republicans to start compromising. That is why Republicans could lose the House. To Democrats talking about reaching across the aisle.

Over 50%? Is that a "mandate" in your view? For fundamental changes, like nationalizing health insurance, we need far more than a slim partisan majority. Obama could have refused to sign ACA. He could have instructed Congress to go back to the drawing board and write legislation with real consensus behind it. But he didn't. He indulged his party's desire to do "something", even if that something was hated by half of the country.

So now, the slim partisan majority has flipped and Trump is dismantling ACA. It's all been a useless waste of time and money.

The Republican's signaled what was coming when they refused to repeal the ACA. They further told you what they were doing when they did away with the mandate, that is hastening the collapse. It's all been a game folks.

And when single payer is presented by Trump all his sheep will claim it is the greatest idea ever.

And the Dems will gloat all the way to the bank.

Repeal EMTALA.

It will never happen because we don’t have the stomach to see people dying outside of a hospital for lack of the ability to pay

It might happen, if people wise up and reject this kind of ridiculous fear mongering.

It is not fear mongering.

What happens if a hospital refuses to treat a type 1 diabetic patient who shows up at the hospital an has no money and no insurance?

What do you think would happen if it were repealed?

you also don't believe people should be allowed to purchase health care if they have a pre-existing condition, right?

You don't buy insurance AFTER you crash your car. You get the whole concept of insurance, right?

This is the rotten core of ACA. And voters love it. We need leaders strong enough to tell voters what they don't want to hear - to tell them that they are full of shit.

Solving the health care problem by forcing insurance companies to function as a safety net is insane. It would be like solving childhood hunger by forcing grocery stores to give away food. But, when it comes to health care people tend to turn into irrational children.

Your collective is a collection of lies

I'll say this again, maybe you'll eventually understand.

The DOJ said the individual mandate is unconstitutional.

The individual mandate was taken off the books LAST YEAR.

The individual mandate is NOT Obamacare.

Obamacare is not going Buh Bye.

This thread is a lie.
Just like socialism, if socialism was any good it would never have to be forced on anyone. It is always forced on people...
And once people get a taste of it they fucking hate it

Why can't you discuss what I am posting, and discuss the truth? At no point did I say anything about socialism.

Was Obamacare or the individual mandate found unconstitutional? It was the mandate... which was ALREADY gotten rid of LAST YEAR.
So what’s your point?

You guys are celebrating something that doesn't matter... because the mandate was REMOVED LAST YEAR. And you are portraying the decision as if it is ALL of Obamacare, it isn't.

Although the mandate was repealed it is not gone until 2019. You still had to have insurance this year or pay the fine on your 2019 taxes. They may be celebrating that an insurance company does not have to take you with a pre existing condition or charge the same of someone who has no pre - ex. I really don't know wtf they're celebrating

I don't think things would change much at all. And if there were problems, we should find solutions that are maintainable.

We're trying to 'draft' private businesses and force them to function as social safety nets. That invites corruption and further merges corporate and state power.

We need to be clear about what problems we're trying to solve. The health care reform movement is a confused collection of competing goals that often directly contradict each other. Are we trying to make sure that poor people can get health care? Then beef up the safety net. Are we trying to do something about out of control health care inflation? They drop the subsidies propping up employer provided health care, as that's been the primary force driving inflation.

If, on the other hand, the goal is simply to centralize control of health care at the federal level - well, no thanks.

That´s largely the same here. Obamacare is certainly not a good solution but maybe a step towards the right direction.

Only it wasn't.
It was a step in the wrong direction.
Millions of people Blie...working people...people who had health insurance for years (I am one of them).... LOST.... insurance due to Obamacare allowing companies under so many employees to not have to provide coverage.
But.... people without jobs got insurance. You want to say that was the right direction?
SO I was on Obamacare for 7 worthless months. I paid $640/mo just for me, with a ridiculous $6500 deductible. Because I qualified for no "assistance".
Thank God I am now covered by my wife...where we pay $440 for BOTH of us with a $1500 deductible.
Yeah...Obamacare is great.
NOT.

Your companies under so many employees never had to provide you with health insurance before obamacare.

The IRS, despite being told to stand down, is trying to collect individual mandates. They just spit back our tax returns over it so we have to send in the middle finger paper work - the bronze plan for me is $1,700+ a month. Meanwhile, I pay out of pocket (cash only) for my medical as needed, at about half the cost of all you morons blowing money on the health insurance scam.

You want to contribute thousands of investment dollars to insurance scammers, have at you, but don't force me and mine to be stupid just because ya'll are.

That's because it does not take effected until Dec 31st this year or Jan 1 next. You owe them.

Owing them is fine. Just don't pay them. The law clearly stated there would be no charges brought or garnishment etc.... Just (politely) ignore the requirement and move on.

We had our annual corporate meeting a couple weeks ago, a couple of D.C. fat cats spoke at it and this may very well be the plan, Trump always advocated some form of single payer. It has been a game Republicans have done a damn good job of pulling the wool over the eyes of much of their base. Now they are praying the dems sweep in November so they can lay the blame on them. It's nothing but a game in D.C.

Lol
Actually, I hope he does.
Lol
If I did have a pre-existing condition I certainly wouldn’t expect anyone else to pay for it, I’m not a fucking coward like that

You think people shouldn't be able to buy insurance from anyone for any price? What a heartless pig.
You’re misunderstanding, people can buy whatever they want don’t give two shits but no one should be forced to buy insurance whatsoever that’s cowardly shit
Lol, Insurance is cowardly?

So I'm guessing you don't have anything as cowardly as a retirement plan either?
Lol
I have collectible firearms and knive some of which are worth more than my house...
So that would be a "no" then?

While that is true if you every receive a refund they will keep it.
