Again, if they did it was because he did it during his paid work time, while in uniform. No one would had cared if he protested on his own time or on social media.
He was paid to play football. He was not paid to stand up during a meaningless ritual of false patriotism.

Again, did Tebow have a right to evangelize when he was "on the clock". While people mocked him for it, no one insisted he get fired. NFL players have been politicizing on the clock for years with headbands and other actions.
