Cleveland boy with fake pistol killed by police

If the police can capture the active shooter at Aurora Colorado alive, what justifies the Cleveland police killing 12 year old Tamir Rice within TWO SECONDS of rolling up on him?

Because the guy in Colorado did not resist the cops, he did what they told him to do.
He'd have shot the cops had his gun not jammed.

Plus, he was a pussy, and did not and does not want to die.

He should have been tried and executed by now.

That he hasn't been is a travesty of justice.

You were there?

Tell us what you would have done, if you approached the kid?

Taken one for the good of mankind?
Why did they need to approach the kid?

Since when do police drive right up next to an unknown whom they consider armed and dangerous?

Never.

Why didn't they stop 30-50 feet back and use their loudspeaker to tell him to drop his weapon while shielding themselves with their car doors?

That's because you don't have the need to know. LMAO

Ah, rush to judgement time again.
Possibly a rush to judgement but not likely. Two cops, One Twelve year old? You think the 2 cops had no other way to resolve this other than shooting the kid?
Yes Playing, have you never played with toy guns as a kid?
It was a tragic event however there is a difference between play in the park with a toy gun and pulling one that closely resembled a 1911 on folks to scare them.
There is also a split second in which LEO has to make a decision. When asked to show your hands not doing so and reaching for a gun that officers do not know is a toy is not the route to take

Yeah no kidding! parents everywhere should be sitting down with their children and explaining this, among other basic survival skills in todays world.
Its such a simple thing to do. I run it through my kids head all the time just in case.... If you ever get pulled over, Always leave your hands on the steering wheel, never down until he asks you. You cant give an officer a moment of doubt.

The video has no sound. The police probably gave him instructions to put his hands up through their bullhorn. He ignored and reached for his BB gun. They obviously saw him as a threat, so they fired. It's tragedy. Nothing more to really make of it.

Holy shit you're stupid! At no point does the kid look in the direction that the car came from and doesn't see the car until it came flying into view on-camera.

There's no way a car enters the video like this one does from a stopped position mere yards away.

Get your head out of your ass.

What would you like us to believe? That two cops just decided to run up on a 12 year old black kid and shoot him because he's black? That story is great for the race hustlers, but in the real world it doesn't happen.

Yes.

I don't know their motivation, but it's clear what they did.

Now contrast it with this story of a drunk, armed White man walking around with a rifle threatening people:

Watch What Happens When Police Confront a White Open Carry Gun Nut Alternet

Police spent over 45 minutes talking to him, reasoning with him, to hand over his weapon.

Why the difference?

Deputy Police Chief Ed Tomba said the officers ordered Tamir to "show your hands" three times from the ajar passenger door, but it's hard to believe that's possible based on the video.

The shot that struck Tamir appears to have been fired the very moment the officer stands up after getting out of the car. If this is the proper technique for confronting an armed gunman, let alone a 12-year-old boy with a toy gun, one has to wonder what training manual they are consulting.

Why did the officers drive right up to Tamir? Why didn't they park further away, climb out of their car and shield themselves with a door or another section of the car, and then order Tamir to drop his weapon?

There's no excuse for what happened in Cleveland. The cops had the chance to taze him. They could have shot the child in the leg or arm.

Those of you rejoicing in that baby's death, I hope you find yourself in his shoes - or his parents' - during your next incarnation.
No fucking cop on the planet attends a 911 complaint about a person waving a fucking gun around and pointing it at people and sees the person and reaches for a fucking Taser. What are you? Like ten years old?
Had the cop intentionally aimed for a leg or arm and missed and someone standing nearby was killed THEN what would you think?
Every cop on the planet is trained to 'shoot center mass'. NEVER any exceptions.
Another one of your childish ludicrous posts and you're on PI.
No cop is trained to shoot in the leg. That is not the point though. No cop is trained to come out of their car guns blazing on a code 1 call.

One surrendered the other did not. Hope that helps.
After watching the video it is clear that Tamir never had a chance to surrender.

He was ordered to show his hands 3 times and he would not do it.
You cannot order someone to show his hands three times when you opened fire as soon as you opened the door. If you people are not going to watch the video quit commenting on it.

Bad parenting is more of a glaring problem in the black comunity. Next.

How? Because YOU think it is? What about when white kids go vandalize property and get shot by police before given a chance to surrender? Would you say that the parents who didn't know what they were doing are bad parents? The answer is no because you would feel "sympathy" for them because you could relate to them.

But because you can't relate to black people (or don't want to), you decide to find any reason to not sympathize with them and think they deserve it or they are horrible living creatures. Dehumanizing them so it's justified to hate them.

I have empathy for blacks, but at the same time I understand thier problems are of thier own doing. Liberals and blacks obsessed over white racism while wilfully ignoring and making excuses for the self-destructive behavior of black people.

Their problems are THEIR OWN doing? Did black people segregate themselves?

Did blacks force banks to not issue VA housing loans or to create white only VHA neighbors so WW2 black veterans couldn't own homes and other property and thus created the vicious cycle of poverty that plagues African Americans communities?

The problem was created by discrimination so I fall to see how they "created the problem" all by themselves.

Oh just give it a fucking rest already.
There is a fucking black man in the Oval Office. Blacks can do anything they want in today's society, ANYTHING.

This 12 year old kid did NOT reach for a gun when told to put his hands on his head because his great great grandfather couldn't get a VHA loan.

What the fuck is going on this country when so many people have to be so dishonest?

You forgot to mention that Obama was born to a white mother that had property. And we don't know if the cops even told him that, only that as soon as the cops pulled up, they shot him with no chance to surrender. And there is still racism in society, you and dannyboys prove it. Sorry for the truth.
Another bullshit lie from you.
BOBO's mother didn't have any property fuck witt.
Her parents didn't either. They lived from paycheck to paycheck.
BOBO's mother 'dropped' BOBO on the grandparents and took off to make a name for herself making 'B' grade porn movies, stripping and basically fucking every negro she saw.

You are just assuming that. The video was compressed. You are not seeing the whole video of what happened.
Cops do not come out of their cars shooting first.

Instead of whining and crying about thugs like Travon Martin and Michael Brown
being shoot and killed maybe time would be better spent wondering how two police officers ended up shooting and killing a 12 year old boy in a park because he was playing with a toy gun? There is no excuse for the police action on this shooting.

Saw the video and ocverage for this several time syesterday. Something occured to me that calls into question the justification for the shooting:

If the officer ordered the boy to drop the weapon and show his hands, then fired when the boy produced the pistol, how could he drop the weapon without producing the pistol? Could make a case for deliberately shooting the boy by giving him the order to drop the weapon knowing then he'd be holding the pistol then shooting. He couldn't "show his hands" AND "drop the weapon."

Except the kid did not have the weapon fist. He was ordered to show his hands and then he reached for the gun.

Something else that occured that might end up having to be adopted by law enforcement is what's already official policy in the military, you may not fire on an enemy until fired upon. A lot of officer-involved shootings could have been avoided if officers have to wait until they're fired upon. This incident, as well as a previous one where subjects both have bb-gun weapons could have avoided the deaths of the subjects by waiting to see if the weapons a) got fired at all, and b) if when fired the report of the weapon sounded like an actual firearm.

You naturally don't wanna put officer's in any more jeopardy than they already are, but at the same time these sorts of incidents bring low all law enforcement when they happen. Just as we don't want military triggering unintentional wars with other countries firing prematurely or unjustly, we might need to implement a 'do not fire unless fired upon' type policy.

There is a fucking black man in the Oval Office.
He is just as White as he is Black.
Then why has he been referred to the "the First Black President" by everyone on the planet for six years?
You're stupid.

Would you rather they call him a mulatto?
Seems that would be very disrespectful.
The Tree Dwellers would refer to Don Knotts as a 'Black' if Don rubbed black shoe polish on his face.

Like almost all shootings of unarmed people, it is a Tragedy of Errors that could have been avoided in many different ways.

Fact is, the first error leading to the killing was a stupid kid getting his kicks out of scaring people with a replica gun that could not be distinguished from a real gun without close examination.

CNN's coverage (sigh) claims the officer fired within 2 seconds of arrival and ordered the boy to show his hands AND drop the weapon. Shrug.

How many hundreds of dead cops do you want to see.

And to further prove how fucking ignorant your post is, bullets travel faster than sound, you would not hear the one that killed you instantly.

How about people teach their kids how to act in public, and shut the fuck up when they don't and pay the price?
