CNN: Michael Cohen in talks to plead guilty to criminal charges

They're mad because the buck stops here, it was never a witch hunt, and Trump is criminally implicated.

How is Trump criminally implicated ?

Campaign finance laws...since his attorney has plead guilty to violating them...he could arguably be indicted as a co-conspirator since it was done on his behalf.

The act of the payment was lawful. Failure to report as a campaign contribution was not. Cohen plead to the lack of campaign contribution reporting in Counts 7/8
The payment was made to hide an affair. The affair, had it been revealed, plus the payment, would have hurt Trump. Look what happened to Romney.
There is no legal requirement that you must allow this to become public knowledge.
You're deflecting. The money is what needs to be reported.

DANG!? Can DOPers explain this?

I am sure many of these issues will be ultimately settled in court. I don't see the payments that Trump authorized Cohen to make as campaign violations. Let's say you are involved in a lawsuit with someone and decide you want to run for office. You decide to settle the lawsuit so you can be done with the matter while running for office. This is illegal? We just heard about many Congressman that settled issues even using tax payer money. Isn't it reasonable to assume they made those settlements so their reputation wasn't ruined when it becomes a campaign issue? Were all those settlements illegal? Once you are a candidate, is it even possible to settle a lawsuit? So Trump's only legal remedy was a public trial or battle with Stormy Daniels? Resolving it between the two of them was illegal?

Cohens plea deal is not a legal decision. It is just an agreement he made to limit his prison time.

Trump has nothing to worry about here. This is all just hyperbole.
Negative! The money Trump paid back to Cohen was never reported. Nothing hyperbole about that. Campaign Finance Law Violations

Mueller and Rosenstien have already passed on it. It is over. This is dead issue. That is likely why Mueller handed the case off.

Hiding an affair by payment is not illegal. This was not contested by Cohen's accusers. Cohen paying her and her silence was a campaign contribution and should have been reported as such. Cohen plead guilty to this in Charges 7 and 8 of the plea agreement which i linked to earlier in this thread.
And the co-conspirator is Trump. End of story.
Co-conspirator to what exactly ? Not reporting the contribution ?
He first lied about the affair. He then lied about knowing anything about the hush money. And then, never reported the money. That is a crime; Campaign Finance Law Violations
And that is about Russia............how............and you have to prove all of it.............

This is your GREAT CRUSADE.............LOL

A PORN STAR NDA............that's it....................LOL

And a Porn Star will lead the DNC.........rah rah...........LOL
Priceless and so true
This is what matters at the end of the day; Campaign Finance Law Violations

People who think Trump is going to be impeached over this are living in fantasy land. This won't even be a topic on the left wing news in about a weeks time.

Mueller passed off the case so his name wouldn't be on it September 1st, to make it look political. Smart move by Mueller. Trump can't say anything about Mueller that they are being political, two months before the election.

If it makes you feel better to believe that, than so be it.

You are pedaling lawlessness, just like a well trained Trump Sheep.

DANG!? Can DOPers explain this?

Sure, it is non sense.
because truth isn't truth, right? You better wake up and see what is going on, here. The President probably committed a felony to get elected. Not that this is the end for a President with Congress that is terrified of him, because it isn't. But it's about to get messy.

"Show me the man and I'll show you the crime".

Clinton probably committed a few felonies in her efforts to get elected. And I wouldn't be surprised if after November, Sessions announces that he will step down as AG and some others will follow suit, and after that it could be that Hillary Clinton's case may be reviewed and this time she gets indicted. And she won't be the only one either. So yeah, it could get very messy indeed.

Mueller does not have such power. That's the elegance of all of this. Mueller doesn't get to decide. Trump's DOJ and the Republican Congress get to decide. And here we are, a parade of jailbirds.

There is no need for any defense. There will be no charges against Trump in this matter.
