These are terms of art. You are not being precise, most likely because your communist leaders have deliberately been inprecise.

An assault rifle has full-auto capability. What you appear to define as an "assault weapon" covers about 90% of all civilian-owned firearms.

And, NO. It is NOT easier to shoot rounds with a rifle for a mass shooting. Look up and learn about CQC or CQB. But, many times, a rifle is better for a home defense situation.

would seem as such. they don't view it as military or they'd sell the police / military the AR's. if neither are buying these weapons then it must not suit their needs. if it doesn't suit the need, then it's not a "tool for purpose" in that arena.

No Colt has just been mismanaged for decades. My Colt M-4 is my favorite AR. They do this stuff all the time, and then change their minds. They will be producing AR's again in the not too distant future. However, the market is saturated with quality AR's.

I have a Colt AR. If someone offered me 5 grand, I might be inclined to sell it.
