I was under the impression that Hispanic type people were mostly just liberal because the Democrats want to let them live here for free and vote without requiring citizenship while the Republicans wanted to hire them for twenty cents an hour or kick them out altogether. I feel like, if the GOP reversed itself here, and worked to change its image as the party of rich and racist old white men to them, then it could leverage other GOP issues like abolishing abortion and safeguarding religious freedom to find itself a large and growing voter base.
