That's it. They're desperate to stop ANY governmental attempt at solution to escalating costs. It's actually worse for them if it works than if it doesn't.

My guess is it'll work in some ways (eg forcing providers to take less money) and not well in others (eg the mandate). As a reasonable person, I'd like to see how it works, and then modify it. It's not like we've really ever tried this before ... unless we just went single payor (not that I want that).

I'd rather have had Bennett and Grassley and Hagel and Snowe hash out something with Kennedy, but ......
