We do not live in a direct democracy in national matters, something you know, but as usual interpret things to fit your ideology - in short, you're too often dishonest.
Each State "elects" people to represent them, and to summarize your ill-written post, democracy ends at each States lines, then it's up to our elected representatives.

I want every citizen over the age of 17 to be able to vote, to be able to easily get to the polls, and to have a photo I. D. Card issued by the Federal Government, a state,a city, county, or parish agency. That no one is denied the right to vote by arbitrary judgments and when in doubt, allow the voter to vote and that ballot be validated or not by the County Clerk's Decision under oath.

well first, the subpoena has to be valid and about something. The congress already has what they subpoena'd, so I'm unaware on what grounds their position actually is since they have that with which they asked for already? And BTW, executive privilege has been invoked!!!
If you are served with a subpoena, and tell the authority to Pound Sand, a warrant of arrest will be issued, and very soon you would find yourself in jail.

In general we aren't a democracy at all, and the voting rights can be restricted just as they were expanded if it serves the interests of the nation. It does serve our interests.
