From the 1940's to the 1980's my father was a union pipefitter; for decades, he and other white working-class men formed the backbone of the Democratic party. Recently however, in their headlong quest to become more minority friendly, the white working-class man has been largely ignored or at least taken for granted by today's Democratic party. As a result, many have drifted over to the GOP, and though the conservative agenda's management friendly / labor hating platform has been economically detrimental to the white working-class men, they at least have found a more understanding and sympathetic audience under the GOP tent. Democratics....you should be running away with elections, but you're shooting yourselves in the foot here. Stop treating white working-class men as 2nd class citizens and treat them with the respect they deserve - or you'll continue to lose them!

Recently? Democrats abandoned the American working class man soon after LBJ took the Democrats down the the path of racial division and exploitation. The recent problem is that now the Democrats have abandoned America altogether and work for the benefit of China. The Covid cover-up, the push for EVs, Solar and wind, the open border attack on our country is exactly what China wants.

I have zero problems as a white man in society. I support neither party because neither party represents my concerns.

I agree with you. My dad was a life long union enthusiast and Democrat.
I followed in his footsteps, I voted for Jimmy Carter. Jimmy changed my mind about voting blindly for Democrats.

Self-inflicted wound.

The Democratic Party has spent the last several decades overcompensating, pandering to American Blacks, making excuses for them, lowering standards & expectations for them, refusing to hold them accountable. Predictably, American Blacks have underperformed their potential, as anyone would under those circumstances.

And just as bad, these tactics have clearly fueled a growing resentment from American Whites, who look at this as essentially reverse racism. That resentment has been growing all that time, and when it was at its zenith, along came a shameless con man who knew exactly how to play right into it and make it even worse. And here we are.

This doesn't excuse or ignore the old fashioned, ignorant, paranoid, mouth-breathing racism that clearly still exists on the Right, not to mention the constant "I don't see a thing" enabling that we see here. But it does play right into the hands of those people, and the American Left absolutely refuses to admit the role they have played in this.

The two ends of this issue just keep feeding into the worst impulses of the other. They NEED each other.

I think the middle class got much richer under Trump. Rising wages, and low inflation.

Biden is killing the Middle, celebrating expanding all kinds of "free stuff" for people who used to be able to afford their own stuff.

Republicans are big on Individual Responsibility, something that is considerably watered down in the midst of socialist organizations like labor unions. Our (Republicans') success is measured in overall prosperity rather than union membership, which in the private sector approaches single digit percentages.

At the present time, Union "leadership" remains in the Democrats' hip pocket, while the rank & file leans to the political Right. In fact, it is difficult to point to a single Democrat initiative of the past ten years that actually accrues to the benefit of the traditional working man (or woman). On the contrary, open borders, "social justice" initiatives, soft-on-crime policies, and policies that cause inflation - especially w/r/t the cost of energy - work to harm that traditional Democrat constituency.

Funny thing is no president in the last sixty years has stopped immigration legal or illegal.

Man, if this inflation keeps up, Biden might take us back 15 years or more. Looks like we're on path for that....
