Well, there they go again, shutting down the government. Not that we'll miss it all that much.

Recall the last time they shut down the government in the mid-1990s: At least the Democrats and Republicans negotiated... or appeared to, at least.

As the deadline loomed, Republicans and Democrats were about $5 billion apart in their budget negotiations (this was back when a billion dollars was considered a lot of money).

After a week of solid "negotiations", Republicans had moved about $2.3 billion toward the Democrats' position.

And during the same period, Democrats had moved $500 million away from the Republicans' position.

The deadline came with no agreement reached, and the government shut down. WIth the help of a compliant media to bury the facts of what had gone on, people got the impression that the shutdown was "Republicans' fault".

Fast forward to 2013. This time the Democrats have dispensed with the feigned "negotiations" of the 1990s, and simply refuse to meet at all with Republicans. They simply say that Republicans must cave to all Democrat demands. Their confidence is high, knowing that the media will pretend that responsibillity for the shutdown is solely the Republicans'... again.

But history shows that Democrats have NEVER been interested in negotiating or compromising, at least since the 1980s. As they move to the left at ever-increasing speed, their agenda does not allow for any slowing, compromise, or even negotiating.

Government shutdown begins as gridlocked Congress gives up

Congress adjourned early Tuesday morning without renewing funding for the federal government and the White House issued orders beginning the grim task of shutting down “nonessential” services across the nation.

Senators gave up first, adjourning soon after midnight, while House lawmakers stuck it out past 1 a.m. But with a middle ground proving elusive and senators refusing to negotiate over changes to the health law, the House too gave up and vowed to try again later in the day.

The debate raged even as Congress careened through the deadline, with House Republicans sending repeated proposals over to Senate Democrats, though never the one plan senators demanded: a funding bill with no strings attached.

President Obama upped the pressure, releasing a video message early Tuesday morning that he recorded to American troops, in which he blamed Congress for letting the military down. “It has failed to pass a budget and, as a result, much of our government must now shut down until Congress funds it again,” he said.

A last-ditch House plan to request formal talks with Senate Democrats was met with derision by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who said there will be no negotiations with the threat of a shutdown still looming.

Yeah, obama will negotiate with Russia and Putin, Syria and Assad, Iran and the Assaholahs...... But not with Republicans.

Kinda tells you what he thinks of about half of America.

The House did its job.

They presented a working resolution to the Senate and the Stuttering Clusterfuck.

It is now the job of the Senate and the Executive to negotiate with the House.

Well, unless you're the Nazis in the dimocrap party.

They won't negotiate with anybody but other Nazis.

President Obama doesn't negotiate with terrorists.

You don't compromise with terrorists

It only encourages them

That's easy to explain.

Russia, Syria, and Iran have philosophies and agendas much closer to Obama's, than the Republicans do.

He does all the time wih Iran, Syria, etc. Then agaun since Obama is a good Chicago Democrat he can do what he wants and not get in any trouble for it.

Since when are the Reps, the minority party, terrorists??

They are the opposing party and believe me, if the Dems were in the minority they would do exactly the same as the Reps. Oppose.

The Affordable Health Care Act (A.C.H.A.) is law of the land.

There was debate.

On the Floor of House of Representatives.

On The Floor of The Senate.

At Town Hall Meetings.

RePugs are now denying Veterans Wounded and Maimed in Combat their benefits, earned in combat.

The A.C.H.A. was passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The challenges to A.C.H.A. were heard by the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

In a Majority Decision which included Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court of The United States of America John Roberts, A C.H.A. was held to Constitutional.

To say there was no debate is an outright, down right. out and out bald faced lie.

There was very little debate on the ACA. It was, "Here it is, take it or leave it."

Never before, never in the History of this great Country has major bill been passed with every single member of the opposition party voting against it.

Never.

And you are such a lying scumbag, Veterans aren't being denied anything.

And one other thing as long as you got obama's schlong away from your eyes.....

Laws were made to be repealed. Laws get repealed every day. Constitutional Amendments can be repealed.

And the Republicans in the House are trying to append the Law. It's perfectly legal, right and reasonable that they do what the majority of the People of the Country elected them to do.

EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE HOUSE stood for re-election in 2012.

Every one of them. Every single one.

They were elected to do exactly what they're doing now. Represent the people who voted for them.

To you, that seems wrong. To you, it seems incorrect.

But it is neither wrong nor incorrect and there is no need for you to lie about anything.

But....... You're a dimocrap. Dogs bark, babies cry, ducks quack..... dimocraps lie

It is the TeaHadists that refused t negotiate. The Affordable Health Care Act is the Law of The Land and they refuse to acccept that simple fact.

Wouldn't you agree that it is long past time democrats declared republican as a terrorist organization and started mass arrests? They have voter registration lists. They have their stasi spy program. It's time.

Start with the Veterans trying to get into the memorials.

What "compromises" have the Republicans offered?

Compromising what the other side already has is not a compromise...what have the Republicans offered up that THEY want?
