A Democratic Congressman has announced that he will not recognize Trump as a "legitimate President."

Democratic Rep. Lewis: Trump not a 'legitimate president'

How the hell does saying this help the Democratic Party?

Were they not the ones berating Trump when he said he might not recognize the result of the election if he lost?

They said his statements were a threat to democracy?

And yet, they are doing the same exact same thing that they berated Trump for doing.

I guess it's an example of "do what I say, not what I do."

Democrats need to understand that the far-left policies of the Obama administration, and the total corrupution of Hillary Clinton, combined in a perfect storm to deprive them of more than 1000 seats of power at the federal and state level.

If they are going to have any hope of gaining power back, they must moderate their positions and clean up the dishonesty and corruption that pervades their ranks.

And they can start from abstaining from any further efforts to delegitimize this election.

The American people have spoken, and the Democrats need to start listening.

Democrats will continue the same behaviors that cost them the election, they are stuck on stupid.

Republicans were assholes and annoying for the past 8 years. Turn around is fair game.

OK, if you think so. But don't think a strategy of obstruction will succeed. As Trump revives the economy and gets more new jobs in the United States, his popularity will grow, and support for the Democrats who oppose him will continue to decline.

I'd have to say no. They have two talents. Destroying America when they have power and being belligerent when they don't.

We will continue to be assholes and annoying, only difference is we own the House, Senate, and White House. Things look particularly grim for you liberals.

Sounds like the typical lib excuse. Does this mean you guys will stop pretending to be better than those you claim are wrong?

I don't recall the recounts after Obama's election, the riots in the streets, the dead cops, the harassment of electoral voters or the attempts to disrupt the inauguration.

All I saw was the usual division among parties about how we should address issues.

Because the whole idea is to delegitimize Trump.

The Democrats have been lying to their constituents for many years saying how the Republicans are a thing of the past; how Republicans are nothing but rich old white men that are dying off; that most of the country is progressive and embellish progressive (socialist) ideas.

What's going on now is nothing new. They tried to do with with Bush's two elections. They can't let these elections knock the wind of of their sail. They have to keep trying to convince their sheep that the Democrats are accurate in their assessment of the country.

In trying to get that done, they need to convince the sheep that yes, they really did win, it's just that .....because of Russia........because of DieBold.........because of punch card ballots.........because of the Supreme Court and so on.

They can't let it be known to their sheep that we are indeed an equally divided country. No, that can't be known. So brainwash their followers into believing they won, but got cheated out of the election. It's working too, just look at what liberals here on USMB think.

Its time for the rich to get ahead and the rest to take a few steps back. Now is that time. Workers need to be put in their place.

Then it must have worked. We have the Congress, the Senate, the majority of Governorships across the country not to mention hundreds of local positions we took from the Democrats, and now the White House.

Republicans opposed Obama because he hated America and wanted to destroy it, and the American people understood that and supported the Republicans in their opposition, giving them majorities in 2010 and 2014 in Congress, as well as governorships and state legislatures. The Democrats will find the American people will not support them in their opposition to Trump, since he is a patriot who wants to revive the economy and bring back jobs. If the Democrats throw obstacles in the way of Trump's agenda, the American people will punish them with more defeats in 2018 and 2020.

but that's not we I disliked him.

It was his policies and arrogance.

Fortunately his entire legacy of illegal executive orders will be undone in a few hours.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.
