Father Arrested For Protesting A Book

How about this.............

IT'S THE LAW.

The School violated 18 USC 1470, with the transfer of obscene material to minors.

Prosecute the School Board under the DOJ's laws.

obscenity is a very nebulous concept. it requires there be absolutely no redeeming social value.

so no.....

Exactly. You can ban the Bible and Shakespeare under Eagle's interpreation of "obscenity".

Many churches offer Christian books that are age appropriate. The Bible states that a Christian starts with the "milk" of the Word before maturing enough to chew on the "meat" of the Word. Lots of churches offer Sunday school classes separate and apart from the main church hall during the main sermon. Parents are encouraged to present age appropriate material to their children as they age and mature. It's really not rocket science.

Bottom line? It's totally inappropriate for a bunch of liberal progressives to foist hardcore porn upon 14 year old school girls. The parents of young children SHOULD be able to entrust their children to educators with a modicum of common sense and at least a thimble full of good judgment.

Hardcore porn? You are fucking retarded.

When someone doesn't adore the porn industry like you apparently do then yes, it's hardcore. Perhaps to you or other like you it's just a walk in the park.

The issue has nothing to do with ‘porn,’ just as it has nothing to do with someone being arrested for ‘protesting’ a book.

You’re as ignorant as you are ridiculous.

Btw, the school apologized for not sending notice, and they're revising their policies regarding how the meetings are run:

"
After the meeting, the school board issued a statement saying in part, "The board apologizes for the discomfort of those impacted and for the failure of the school district to send home prior notice of assignment of the novel. … The district will take immediate action to revise these policies."
As for Baer's contention that there is no way to publicly interact with the school board, Superintendent Kent Hemingway said it's a two-step process. After an issue is brought to the board's attention, such as what happened Monday night, it can become an agenda item.
"At that time, that discussion can involve the public or it could take place between the board and administration," Hemingway said.
The leadership committee of the school district met Tuesday morning and said another change officials are considering is having a curriculum committee that would include members of the public.

Also, there were multiple parents who complained.

I have read plenty of books, and that paragraph is not hardcore. I would hate to think what you define as soft core.

I've never found the need to categorize porn one way or the other. I actually see pornography as a victim sport where women are demeaned and degraded. They're used like old shoes then tossed into the trash heap. So, from my perspective, all porn is bad porn. It appeals to man's base nature. I prefer to reach for a higher standard.

I'll assume that you're a typical liberal -- the name-calling and all.

From the father's perspective the book was pornographic. That's specifically why he opposed the book. He didn't commit a crime but was arrested at the will of a bunch of judgmental progressives. 2 + 2 = 4

Was there any other parent who also believed the book was pornographic?

I don't know and it doesn't matter. The one parent was concerned for his daughter and from what little I read I would have been as well. I find it interesting that a progressive would be concerned about numbers. Entire states have voted against gay marriage just to have one judge overturn their vote and the progressives cheer. Sooooo ...

YES! PARENTSSSSSS objected to the book. Multiple.

The school apologized for not sending out a notification about it, and they are changing their policy to allow back and forth discussion with the public.

Do you not read, Noomi?

The man had every right to protest.

He had every right to civil disobedience.

Hint: that comes with arrest.

All is good here. He got his point out.

I'm not sure in what alternate universe it is that school board members dictate who gets arrested.

I could see him being escorted out, maybe. But not arrested, and not charged.

The fact that the school is revisiting their policy and apologized speaks VOLUMES.

people conducting a public meeting have the right to have disorderly people ejected.

you're welcome

Thank you for repeating what I said back to me, jillian. As usual, you bring stellar insight to the table.

aka You should look at my Porn Collection of Books.........

Isn't that right Noomi.............

Again, the man has a right in this country to protest and he violated their 2 minute gag order so they had him arrested. I saw nothing there that justified the arrest as he was actually quite calm about the whole dang thing.

The bottom line here, is that the School Board said you WILL OBEY or else, and you retards agree with AUTHORITARIAN RULE when it is a subject you agree with.

As I have said already, I would have pulled my pecker out and pissed on the damn book to that OLD HAG running the show and given her something more to arrest me for.

A parent has the right to OBJECT to the book whether you like it or not. Apparently the page wasn't JUICY ENOUGH FOR YOU. As you spit off alternatives to your favorite Sleazy books you have read.

Why not just make them do a paper off an article of Hustler Magazine as a school project or just have them do each other in the class room Mrs. Porn star Noomi.

At least you’re consistent in your ignorance, as no school board member attending the meeting ‘dictated’ the man’s arrest, he was arrested by a police officer, and appropriately so:

At a school board meeting Monday night, Baer was given two minutes to speak, the same amount of time as others. He protested the limit and challenged the board to arrest him. A police officer led him away.
