Though violent acts that are fueled specifically by hatred of a specific race, gender, religion, etc are especially problematic to maintaining a peaceful society.

You cannot charge Jimmy with a hate crime for attacking a white man, just because some other unidentified black guy 1000 miles away also attacked a white man in a similar way and said that he was doing it for racial reasons.

no you did not. you said that crimes based on hate were problematic, yes, they are. But you don't want hate crime punishment for someone who attacks a rich white guy because he is rich, or a rich black guy because he is rich and the attacker hates rich people.

you only want hate crimes for certain types of hate. Your goal is to mandate how people think. That is a violation of FREEDOM.
