In the interest of fairness, Rudy is a scumbag - but he personally did more to reduce the power of the Italian mob in New York than any other individual.

I used to admire him. The only thing I can say about him these days is that he appears to believe he is above the law. My guess is that the obscenely wealthy got away with so much for so long that they just assumed it would go on for forever.

There's some very very interesting reading out there about NYC politics and influence....and Cohn...and Trump...and all the politicians, Republican and Democrat. They have had their own little fiefdom there for a long time.
