GOP’s Obsession With Guns Stands To Drive Women Vote In The 2014 Election: Poll

?Chicks with Guns?: 15 million US women pack heat - TODAY News - TODAY.com

OH and by allowing women into combat they have also opened a new can of worms, more and more women will start buying and owning AR and AK style rifles.

That's fine - but it doesn't mean they'll be NRA extremists.
They'll still oppose any new gun laws that will restrict their right to keep and bear arms, regardless if they support the NRA or not.

So would I. You just can't stop with the gun-grabber nonsense, can you?

You said the UK had a lower violent crime rate than we and you were wrong.

They simply have people who are forced to be victims because they are denied the right to arm themselves.

Murders in the UK- 724
Murders in the US- 15,953

Murders with guns in the UK- 27
Murders with guns in the US- 11,101

Here's the fact. Guns are almost NEVER USED to defend people. They just make it easier for people to kill each other in that argument over who drank the last can of Milwaukee's Best.

So only murders are violent crime now?

Nice fail.

A victim is a victim,
How about rape victims that were not killed?

It is so funny, looking these threads were the mindless still blame an object for a problem and not the person using it.

Yup. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Something all the rabid anti gun folk seem to forget. If you have the mindset to kill with a gun. You will.

Loads of ladies use guns for taget shooting. Skeet shooting and (gasp) hunting.

I know both my sister and I use em all the time and we aren't the only ladies who do.

HOw about that?

We have more rapes than most countries do... We just underreport them..

Rape statistics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Koss, Gidycz & Wi published a study in 1987 where they interviewed approximately 6,000 college students on 32 college campuses nationwide. They asked several questions covering a wide range of behaviors. From this study 15% of college women answered “yes” to questions about whether they experienced something that met the definition of rape. 12% of women answered “yes” to questions about whether they experienced something that met the definition of attempted rape[7]
In 1995 the CDC replicated part of this study. They examined rape only, and did not look at attempted rape. They found that 20% of approximately 5,000 women on 138 college campuses experienced rape during the course of their lifetime.[8]
In 2000, the National Institute of Justice and the Bureau of Justice statistics published a study called The Sexual Victimization of College Women based on a 1996 - 1997 survey. [6] At page 11, it can be seen that 3.1% of undergraduate women reported surviving rape or attempted rape during a 6-7 month academic year. Exhibit 7, page 18 of the report suggests that 10.1% of college women reported experiencing rape prior to entering college. 10.9% reported attempted rape prior to college.[9]

Sorry, man. All those guns ain't stopping no rapes.

People with guns can kill a lot more efficiently than people without guns. Most industrialized countries limit gun ownership and they have far less murder than we do.

Home invasion, rape, etc don't count as violent crimes huh?

Idiot.

If you don't want a gun then don't own one. But you have no right whatsoever to tell anyone else what they should or should not do.

Walk around in your naivete leave your doors unlocked, I don't give a shit and when you are the victim of a crime I won't give a shit either because you did nothing to protect yourself.

You know that rape underreporting is a worldwide phenomenon, and not just in the U.S.? So saying the US numbers are deflated, then saying the numbers elsewhere are just fine is intellectually dishonest.

Par for the course for you.

Not in the context of this discussion, no.

Because other advanced countries have less of those, too.

Oh, wait, we can't talk about that.

If guns and prisons make us safer, why do we have the highest crime rate in the industrialized world?

I'm sure it is.

Japan as a lower rape reportage than we do... but I suspect that given the status of women in Japan, it's more underreported than here.

The problem is, what is NOT deterring rapes is guns. Not when we have more guns than any other country and our rape rate could be as high as 20%.

BUt Rape is a nice hot-button for either side to push, because it's emotional.

The numbers aren't there to support the notion that guns deter rapists.

I'm not talking about prisons moron.

I have already said we lock up too many nonviolent offenders and do not keep the actual violent people locked away long enough.

That said denying that there are violent people out there that have no problem committing crimes and that people shouldn't be able to protect themselves from that is just fucking stupid.
