So your only comment is to insult an entire state?

Some states place more value on our rights and the constitution than on nanny government. I say it's a good thing.

I am tired of pandering to every person who illegally enters this country. We don't need immigration reform, we need to reform the way Washington handles things. They have ignored the laws for years and allowed illegal aliens to come and collect welfare and take jobs for little pay. We have millions who have refused to assimilate and that is causing a lot of problems in the schools and elsewhere. If they can't assimilate and obey the law, they don't need to be here.

If a scripture from the Koran (sp?) was to be erected on some 4' tall bronze tables or whatever and some group wanted it placed in front of a government building, I think they should be allowed to do it...if we're going to allow it for one religion, we should allow it for all.

Agree or disagree?

Disagree.

This is America, a country formed on Christian values.

If they want to see the Koran erected, they can go back to where the hell they came from.;)

According to whom? If we're speaking of values, several of the founders had extramarital affairs...should we look the other way on that? Some took opium as I recall. Should we endorse that? How about duels to solve grievances...should we go back to that?

These are the values you wish to highlight...not the "only" values. And most likely you're a Christian...so it's not only what you wish to endorse, it's what you agree with thus marrying the government and an "official" religion.

And again, Sandra brings out the sexist pig that lurks within all conservatives...

It also represents the fear common to most conservatives when Americans express their individual liberty.

The fear I see is Liberals afraid their dear leader will be labeled the failure he is. The loss of the Senate and any chance to screw the US anymore. The left not the right wants to curtail free speech, the left not the right wants to curtail the freedom of assembly, the left not the right wants to deny religion to those that are religious.

The 5 people in Oklahoma that can read the commandments must be happy.

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.

The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shut down by the smallest people with the smallest idea. Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow top dogs. Fight for the underdog anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll be kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best anyway.

The good people of Oklahoma may very well have been inspired by this Reader's Digest article, crafting their law. Maybe they are just decent folks and deserve our respects, ANYWAY.

Someone just finished "Dr. Seussing" it for them.

Your snarky and mindless response to my post clearly indicates that you and your ilk would do (and ALWAYS DOES) exactly the opposite.

Ironic, there is an old saying,a good defense is a good offense, and I can see why,the left does a good job of blaming the right of doing what the left does, but ......................

All in good fun. Everyone I've ever met from Oklahoma has been kind and polite. Just poking fun.

Guess what...Oklahoma is doing it anyway

your first sentence is a lie. didn't bother with anything else.

LEXINGTON,Ky. (WKYT)- President Barack Obama won reelection to another four years in the White House, despite only carrying four Kentucky counties.

An analysis of the results from the Secretary of State show Obama carried Fayette, Franklin, Jefferson and Elliott counties in 2012. In Fayette County, Obama earned 62,078 votes compared to former Gov. Mitt Romney's 60,793.

Results show Obama and Romney tied in seven other counties (Hancock, Logan, McCracken, Ohio, Pulaski, Pike, and Woodford) while Romney won in the remaining 109 counties in Kentucky.

In his 2008 matchup with Sen. John McCain, Obama carried eight counties in the state but also lost the popular vote statewide and in turn Kentucky's electoral votes.

Reality Check: Obama carried only four Kentucky counties

:lmao:

:cuckoo:

Oklahoma is the only state that Obama did not win even one county in the last election... While everyone is focusing on Arizona ’s new law, look what Oklahoma has been doing!!!!

An update from Oklahoma :

Oklahoma law passed, 37 to 9 an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values...! HB 1330

Guess what.......... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB 1804. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.

Guess what.......... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Recently it passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal's to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional SB 1102

Guess what......... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, it passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining Texas , Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.

More states are likely to follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Carolina's, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi and Florida. It appears the South is about to rise up once again. HJR 1003

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away their guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I'm sure that was a setback for the criminals The Liberals didn't like it -- But....

Guess what........... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL drivers’ license exams will be printed in English, and only English, and no other language. They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in Oklahoma , you must read and write English. Really simple.

By the way, the Liberals don't like any of this either

Guess what...who cares... Oklahoma is doing it anyway.

Oklahoma is a state with a little over 3 million people. Queens, which is a BOROUGH of New York City has close to 3 Million.

So basically this really doesn't have an affect on many people.

However, once these laws get challenged? Which inevitably they will?

They rarely survive.

And it's already begun.

Devil-worship group unveils satanic statue design for Oklahoma State Capitol - NY Daily News

You wonder if that wasn't the goal all along....it fires up the troops to see what they disdain...people who disagree with them and they will do anything to show the hatred.

I know it's hard for people on the coasts to separate the "fly-over" states-but....... c'mon girl!!

 :D

To be fair, they both have *k* in their names...

Good grief.:lol::lol::lol:

Huh. Isn't Oklahoma the same state that was the home to indigenous Indians who weren't Christian? And later used by Republicans as a repository for Indians banished from other parts of the country?

Don't let them secede, nuke the racist schmucks.

And here we see the fear, hate, and ignorance common to most on the reactionary right.

This from the statist bootlick who never gets beyond the first facts or principles of case law.

:eusa_whistle:

I can't see a problem with most of those laws. They aren't encroaching on another citizen's civil rights.

People protesting Ten Commandments displays should really pick battles worth fighting, and quit wasting time on trivial bullshit.

Then you’re not paying attention, or don’t understanding the issues involved.

Seeking to conjoin church and state in violation of the First Amendment and the Framers’ mandate that church and state remain separate undermines the religious freedom of all Americans (County of Allegheny v. American Civil Liberties Union (1989)).

Seeking to deny immigrants their due process rights – regardless their immigration status – is a violation of the 14th Amendment (Plyler v. Doe (1984)).

‘English only’ measures are un-Constitutional, a violation of the First Amendment rights of non-English speaking persons with regard to their ability to access government, placing limits on their right to free speech and expression (Ruiz v. Hull, 957 P.2d 984 (Ariz. 1998)).

And the ignorant idiocy of a ‘sovereign state’ violates the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution, where states and local jurisdictions are subject to the Constitution, its case law, Federal laws, and the rulings of Federal courts (Cooper v. Aaron (1958)).

Consequently, advocacy of such measures do indeed violate the rights of individuals, and represents the ignorance of, and contempt for, the Constitution and its case law common among most conservatives.

Defending the civil liberties of all persons living in the United States is neither a ‘waste of time’ nor ‘trivial,’ there is no more important fight.

what a buncha hooey.....

first.....a state has the right to place meaningful historical statues on its own capitol grounds....and if you leftie vampires fear looking at a cross go back to your coffins...

second....."immigrants" by definition are those who came here legally.....they didn't sneak across the border....

third....specifying one language to be used in government matters is not illegal....immigrants should be expected to conform to the culture of the country they are immigrating to....

fourth.....far too much is being 'read' into the Constitution regarding 'supremacy rights' of the Federal government trampling upon the 10th....“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

finally.....Lefties dig too many 'civil liberties' out from under some rock's 'penumbra'....it's time to end the madness...
