Generally speaking (in today's political environment), who is more likely to sign a bill for increased firearm regulations - a Republican or a Democrat? Obviously, it's a Democrat. So I'm not really sure what you're getting at here...

Secondly, the Republicans and the GOP are hypocritical in general. They spend and they restrict freedoms just like the Dems. Romney is pretty darn similar to Barack Obama in many, many respects.

Why can't anyone just outright defend anything Obama does? Instead we always get, "Well, Billy, Romney or Ronnie did it, too." So what. Wrong is wrong. Many things have been tried in the past, such as gun control, and it didn't help. Just because the libs think it sounds good and gives people a false sense of security is no reason to pass more legislation that doesn't work. Maybe they can focus their time and energy on doing things that will actually make a difference, like repealing Obamacare, cutting useless programs and taking other measures (like backing off) to let the private sector do what it does best- create jobs, invent things to improve our lives and get the economy moving.
