Clearly they didn't. I mean, it sucked to be an immigrant from certain countries in certain periods of history. Right now, it's Mexico's turn. (Funny, the same people whose German or Irish ancestors were discriminated against 100 years ago are the ones screaming "Build the Wall" now.)

But slavery and Jim Crow were a lot worse. Under slavery, you could have family members sold off or be beaten for no reason. Under Jim Crow, you could be lynched without due process of law. Even today, a cop can shoot you with little or no repercussions.

Now, final point about immigrants. My family name is pronounced differently in America than it was in Germany when my grandparents came here. Somewhere along the line, my Grandfather decided the best way to assimilate was to sound "less" German. So he changed the way he pronounced his name and he called himself "Louis" instead of "Ludwig". Nobody in my family speaks German anymore. (I made an attempt to learn it, and failed badly).

Blacks can't assimilate that easily. It's the first thing an employer or a racist cop sees when they encounter someone.

Your argument is that skin color doesn’t effect your outcomes only your choices affect your outcomes. If that is the case, why are the results so utterly miserable for people with dark skin color? I posted two clear and concise links of data not opinions from idiots.

Only two choices to explain the poor outcomes for black Americans... Either the system is working against them OR you believe something about their skin color effects their decision making.
