How much ‘pork’ did the House cut from the Bill to make room for the additional $1,400?

None as I understand it..on either side. Because there were two bills wrapped together. What is it you guys don't get about the omnibus spending (expenditures that were negotiated months ago) and relief bill were packaged together?

Which leaves me wondering, why couldn't they just unpackage them - ie vote only on the relief bill? Why did they attach all the pork to it in the first place?

Why were they packaged together?

Bills like these two have to originate in the House, so Dems wanted them combined. Why?

to force a vote for the pork,,,

I don't recall reading or hearing any mention at all about deficit spending back when the Republican Senate came out with their stimulus bill back in March. I knew when I voted for Biden that careless lack of concern about the deficit would change if he won.

And? Does that mean they can't cut money out of one Bill to offset the other Bill?
A little logic would go a long way....even on The Hill.

None, as spending by the trump administration, even if it benefit continue into next administration are the blame of the trump administration. It is up to the opposing party and the president for blame in reckless spending. Trump got played, again as usual. This time, by not giving a damn until it was too late. Don't know what Mitch will do for sure on the $2000 thing. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. He will agree with house and override trump's veto of NDAA, another spending bill trump didn't give a damn about until it was done without him. If it has wasted spend (and some of it always is) it is trump's also. He's a dumb ass and always has been. On the 6th he will be a certified has been, and not just a lame duck, but a plucked duck.

Negotiated with Republicans...who got their pork too. Wrapped the bills into one to cover spending through the summer next year. If you don't like it, take it up with the bipartisan group that negotiated it.

Did the Republicans ask for the bills to be together or did the dems make it so and then told them to take it or leave it?

Yeah - it's not a partisan thing. The question is, why do we put up with it? Trump was right to cal it out (and wrong to cave).

You'll have to ask the people who negotiated it.

Bipartisan negotiation. Both sides got theirs.
It's reality.

I'm asking the partisan tools who fall in line and support this shit. We get bad government because we tolerate it.

From what I've read of the bill they past last night it was a new stand alone bill for the $2000 and nothing else.

Do you think that was appropriate?
