Students nation-wide to attend four-day, university funded white privilege bash

Major universities across the country are offering course credit, and in some cases even paying the cost, for students to attend an annual national event known as “The White Privilege Conference.”

The 2016 conference will feature a variety of speakers and numerous breakout sessions, all of which come at an additional charge. On two of the four days, participants will have the opportunity to spend six hours attending workshops of their choosing, including several tailored for middle-school and high-school students in attendance. More than 20 workshops will be featured at the event, covering topics of sex, race, and gender.

One workshop, titled “Self Care and Healing as Change Agents,” will provide attendees with a safe-space to share the emotional burden that comes from being a social justice warrior.

Judge Judy Is a Supreme Court Justice, According to Some College Grads

A new civics survey highlights the fact that (somehow) almost 10 percent of college graduates think "Judge Judy" is on the Supreme Court bench.

The ACTA report, entitled A Crisis in Civic Education, found that 13 percent of all respondents incorrectly selected daytime TV star Judy Sheindlin on the multiple-choice question.

The correct answer, Justice Elena Kagan, was picked by 61.6 percent of college grads and 44 percent of all those surveyed.

The survey also found a slew of other troubling answers. For instance almost half of college graduates and more than 60 percent of general respondents could not identify the term lengths for members of Congress.

Here's more...

How do Americans amend the Constitution? More than half of college graduates didn’t know. Almost 60% of college graduates failed to identify correctly a requirement for ratifying a constitutional amendment.

We live in a dangerous world—but almost 40% of college graduates didn’t know that Congress has the power to declare war.

Less than half of college graduates knew that presidential impeachments are tried before the U.S. Senate.

Actually it would be interesting to put a test on here to see how many posters are that ignorant!

The intricacies involved in impeachment would be understandable since there are so few of them, but Judge Judy on the SCOTUS bench? C'mon, that's terrible.

They should teach government in school.

That way wingers would understand that it's the Supreme Court that interprets the constitution --not them, not congress and not the president.

That would be awesome

If only there were a way for government to dependable control the thoughts of all the citizens! Think of it. Peace and harmony, and ultimate efficiency in service to the fatherland.

Just a note for all the losers here who are jealous of college educated people. Every one of the people surveyed by this right wing think tank are probably more intelligent than you are. You are trying to punch up and it isn't going so well.

I love it when right wingers come up with this "colleges don't teach anything" and "aren't any good". Their solution is, obviously, to end college. You don't need it. It's not good for anything.

And they will use an article that Fox news found somewhere. Read it. Read the article. Right away, FACTS almost jump out at you. But they don't. Why not? It's easy. They are missing from the article.

Do you know that article doesn't name a single school or college? That's odd. To many in the right, they are all pretty much the same.

Only,

They aren't.

I know a college whose student are nearly all home schooled and they teach the earth was made in literally 6 days. And is only a few thousand years old.

In fact there are similar colleges all across the US that teach magical creation. You can get a list of them off the Internet, it's pretty long.

Even funnier, many kids in college love to take survey's they can answer with crazy answers. When I was in college 40 years ago, I remember one that asked who the SOS was and I answered "Tonto". Who is Tonto?

When it comes to college kids, you take it on faith they are answering honestly. But that's only on faith.

You know, if Republicans believed Obama did a terrible job after Katrina, then I think we've found who believes Judge Judy is a Supreme Court Judge.
