Kill The Profit Motive And You Kill Modern Medical Advances And Prosperity

Everytime you ask for proof where blacks can run things, only further reinforces the point that you're a racist. If you didn't think their skin color was an issue you wouldn't want proof of something so ridiculous and arbitrary. But I guess that's how a racist mind operates.

Every time you fail to answer the question, you only reinforce the fact that there are no blacks doing a competent job of running a country. If that's a fact, then how is pointing it out racist?

Because skin color has no impact on their performance. That's the lazy persons analysis. The easy way out. The racist view.

Tell me, what about skin color impacts someones ability to lead a country?

It shouldn't. Now please supply an example of a country ruled by blacks that has been successful. It should be easy since skin color has nothing to do with it, right?

No I didn't, numskull. We're simply trying to establish a fact here. Liberals never fail to mention the fact that white people in America are richer than black people. Is mentioning that fact racist?

Now answer the question: Can you name one country that has ever been run competently by a black?

Trinidad and Tobago - The Prime minister is East Indian, not black
Martinique - The unemployment rate is approximately 20% This is a French colony, not an independent country
Cape Verde - The unemployment rate is approximately 26% GDP per capita $3,837
Barbados - The unemployment rate is approximately 12% GDP per capita is $16,151 GDP growth for 2012 was 0.9%
Saint Kitts - GDP per capita is 13,968 and Growth is -1.1% in 2012
Saint Lucia - The Prime Minister is white. Gov Gen is black. Per capita GDP is $7,769
Dominica - Per capita GDP is $7,022
Jamaica - Per capita GDP is $5,402 GDP growth -0.3% in 2012
Saint Vincent - $11,900 GDP; growth - 1.2% (2012 est.)
The Dominican Republic - $5,763
Tonga - $4,220

Not impressive, to say the least. Furthermore, these are all piss-ant little countries. One of them has a total population of 35,000.

Hey don't burst his bubble. He spent 2 hours learning the names of Caribbean countries, even if some of them are actually colonies.
Cape Verde is majority European. There was no one there until the Portguese colonized it.

Here's the Failed States Index (I never knew there was such a thing). And howdyalikethat. Fourteen out of 17 countries are black-ruled.

Note that the United States is listed as "stable" rather than the highest rating "sustainable," while Canada and a bunch of European welfare states are listed as "sustainable." The list is the product of some left-wing think tank, and these black-ruled countries still can't get into either of the two top categories.

The country on his list that is doing the best is Barbados, and it's GDP is less than a third of ours.

Note the position of the countries he listed on the FSI:

94 Cape Verde
95 Dominican Republic
118 Jamaica
125 Trinidad
137 Barbados

178 is the top of the list - meaning the most stable country.

The other "countries" on his list were to small too even be mentioned.

Yup, sure have.

Even if they hadn't. What would their skin color have to do with it?

I'm glad to see you out yourself though.

Then you should be able to name one.
He'll give you some phosphate rich shithole in the Caribbean as some kind of proof. Of course it isnt. Then look at virtually every country in Africa, all of them basket cases. Even places like South Africa that were doing relatively well under white rule.

Duh!

Nelson Mandela easily comes to mind.

You are a racist shithead.

The only relevant measure is the survival rate based on the stage the cancer was in when the patient was diagnosed. This study doesn't measure that.

Why would that be the only relevant measure?

You are totally full of shit.

Because that shows how well the healthcare system does at curing cancer. Just looking at overall cancer deaths includes things other than the performance of the healthcare system, like the percentage of the population that smokes, or whether people go to the doctor for cancer screening.

Your response shows that you didn't understand this point.

The U.S. has higher cancer survival rates for some kinds of cancer than other countries but lower cancer survival rates for other kinds of cancer.

The study wasn't just looking at overall cancer deaths. It WAS looking at cancer survival rates. That means after the diagnosis was made.

Some countries must do a better job at treating some kinds of cancer than the U.S. does. The stage at which the cancer is diagnosed is completely irrelevant to the point.

I had no idea Nelson Mandela was a city, state or country.
For the record, Mandela was a marxist who ran his country into the ground.
Your rep is returned in spades. You are an ignorant joke.

I see RDD has abandoned the discussion. I guess even he had to aknowledge he had nothign worthwhile to contribute here.

The article is horseshit. None of the statistics mentioned measure the quality of healthcare. They measure the health of Americans, who are the fattest people in the world. Diabetes in America is endemic because we are so overweight. That alone will result in a drastic decrease in health. Heart disease is also a result of being overweight.

All the other measures have to do with infant mortality, and the way we measure it doesn't compare with the way European countries measure it. The main factors affecting early infant survival are birth weight and prematurity. The way that these factors are reported — and how such babies are treated statistically — tells a different story than what the numbers reveal.

Low birth weight infants are not counted against the “live birth” statistics for many countries reporting low infant mortality rates.

According to the way statistics are calculated in Canada, Germany, and Austria, a premature baby weighing <500g is not considered a living child.

But in the U.S., such very low birth weight babies are considered live births. The mortality rate of such babies — considered “unsalvageable” outside of the U.S. and therefore never alive — is extraordinarily high; up to 869 per 1,000 in the first month of life alone. This skews U.S. infant mortality statistics.

JAMA is a decidedly left-wing journal. It has an agenda to push. It doesn't care about the fact.

The health of Americans doesn't = the health care they receive.

That's your rebuttal? Are you kidding?

No, I'm dead serious. I already explained to you why that's the case.

Life expectency is included in the statistics. Life expectency is the most important measure of the quality of health care. The U.S. lags far behind other countries.

Wrong, because the quality of healthcare you receive isn't the most significant factor in your life expectancy. Habits like smoking can seriously impair your life expectancy, and being a fat slob will also seriously degrade it.

According to the way statistics are calculated in Canada, Germany, and Austria, a premature baby weighing <500g is not considered a living child

Link the above statement or I call horseshit.

PJ Media » The Doctor Is In: Infant Mortality Comparisons a Statistical Miscarriage

Your argument regarding life expectency is a loser. Promoting a healthy lifestyle is the biggest and most important factor in life expectency. Other countries do a better job than the U.S. when promoting a healthy lifestyle, and of course this should be included when grading quality of health care. That is a part of healthcare whether you concede this point or not.

The CDC states that even with different reporting standards for infant mortality, the U.S. still ranks below many countries. (The CDC is a more reliable source than a conservative blog.)

Here are the statistics: Products - Data Briefs - Number 23 - November 2009

The U.S. ranks 30th in the world in infant mortality.

BTW, JAMA is not a leftwing journal. It is published by mostly conservative physicians.

Nelson Mandela didn't run South Africa into the ground. The world regards him as a great leader, even if racists such as yourself, don't.

There was no white flight from South Africa. He protected white businessmen and South Africa had and has a thriving economy.

Obviously, you are the ignorant one.

Mandela got kudos for his fight against apartheid, not for his governing. There has been tons of white flight as crime has exploded there. SA is sinking into the usual African shithole that occurs whenever blacks take over rule from whites. That isn't racist, that is simply fact. Not a single country has bucked that pattern.

Today I learned that adding more people on to private insurance plans is now considered socialized medicine.

So did the meaning of socialism change over the weekend and I didn't get an email about it?

Adding people to private plans using money redistributed from higher earners is socialized medicine. Further, forcing your plan to include people with pre-existing conditions without making them pay separately for their pre-existing issues is forcing the people on the plan to fund those people's known pre-existing conditions, thus re-distributing the costs of those issues to the people on the plan, which is most certainly socialized medicine. Your welcome.

What a numskull. Most of these innovations/discoveries occure long before any of these nations adopted socialized medicine. When do you imagine the small pox vaccine was invented? Penicillin? the Xray?

You are truly stupid.

You are the one who is stupid.

Check the dates. Most of those things were invented AFTER those countries chose socialized medicine.

Wrong, moron. In the first place, most of the claims about the origin of these inventions is not correct. Take Ultrasound. It was invented in the United States, not Austria or Scotland. Austria had nothing to do with it, and researchers in Scotland only made some improvements long after the original invention.

Fetal ultrasound was first used in Scotland well after socialized medicine became established there.

The History of Fetal Ultrasound | Pregnancy Imaging | LiveScience

They were the ones who invented its use for fetal care.

ROFL! Liberals have their own self-serving idiosyncratic definitions for everything.

You can pretend our healthcare system isn't socialist all you want, but economists have a different perspective. They look at the reality rather than just appearances.

If you want to call it a "command system" rather than socialism, be my guest. However, to an economist the two things are one and the same. Socialism is where government makes all the important business decisions. That's how our healthcare system currently works.

Only idiots like you think our healthcare system is socialized medicine. Europe has many examples if you want to know what a socialized healthcare system looks like.

Europe has one form of socialized medicine. We have another. We have the NAZI version of socialism.

The Affordable Care Act is not socialized medicine.

The Nazis were not socialists. In fact they were on the opposite political spectrum from socialism...kind of like you.

You need to crack some history and political science textbooks...maybe you won't appear to be so ignorant.

No, it was for his governing too.

The crime rate didn't increase until well after he retired.

Try reading a few history sources you lazy, racist, shithead.

I sure am glad no one told Nikola Tesla to only invent stuff out of a sense of greed.

Or Jonas Salk.

In the years after Salk's discovery, many supporters, in particular the National Foundation, "helped him build his dream of a research complex for the investigation of biological phenomena 'from cell to society'." Called the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, it opened in 1963 in the San Diego neighborhood of La Jolla. Salk believed that the institution would help new and upcoming scientists along in their careers, as he said himself, "I thought how nice it would be if a place like this existed and I was invited to work there." This was something that Salk was deprived of early in his life, but due to his achievements, was able to provide for future scientists.

In 1966, Salk described his "ambitious plan for the creation of a kind of Socratic academy where the supposedly alienated two cultures of science and humanism will have a favorable atmosphere for cross-fertilization."[64]
Yes, getting your own institute to achieve your dreams is totally the product of altruism.

Whatever Salk's motivations may have been, the motivations of the people who gave him the money for his work was profit . . . and don't ever think Salk didn't understand and use that.

I sure am glad no one told Nikola Tesla to only invent stuff out of a sense of greed.

What makes you think Tesla wasn't interested in making money?

The story of his life and that he ripped up his contracts for the good of humanity.
I'm sure he was interested in money, but he wasn't anywhere near the ruthless, greedy fuck that Edison or Morgan were.
The majority of inventors aren't sharks, they are too wrapped up in their brilliance and originality to be obsessed with mere profit.
It's the backers of the inventors that usually toss the inventors under the bus.

Inventors themselves? Probably not. The people who fund their research? That's different. And research tends not to go anywhere without money.

Really? Do you think those who support breast cancer (or any kind of cancer cure for that matter) are motivated by greed?

I personally think (and maybe it's me being a Pollyanna), that those who are on the cutting edges of medical science are there because they want to better understand, or help their fellow human beings.

However.....................those who are motivated by greed are easy to see. How much does Cialis or Viagra do for humankind?

ask the millions of men around the world who now have a sex life because of those drugs....

God, I work for a prescriptions benefits manager/mail order pharmacy, and the WORST calls we take, by far, are from old guys who didn't get their Viagra . . . or their wives. Heart medication lost in the mail? Insulin not shipped? They're chill. Deny them an erection? Prepare for blistered eardrums.

Yes it is.

Wrong.
The National Socialist German Workers' Party, commonly known in English as the Nazi Party, was a political party in Germany active between 1920 and 1945. Its predecessor, the German Workers' Party (DAP), existed from 1919 to 1920. The term Nazi is German and stems from Nationalsozialist, due to the pronunciation of Latin -tion- as -tsion- in German (rather than -shon- as it is in English), with German Z being pronounced as 'ts'.

Perhaps you need to take your own advice.
