Koch: I'm Fighting to Restore a Free Society

Thank God for people like the Koch brothers. The leftards have massive amounts of funding pouring in from everything from unions to actors, lawyers, corporations, etc. and get free advertising in the popular media, especially the news shows. We would be royally screwed without a prevailing counter force.

California to levy massive fine against Koch brothers groups

Here, take your pick. It looks like a couple billion so far and counting.

And now for the rest of the story...

"The groups sent $11 million to campaigns opposing Proposition 30, which raised the California sales tax and income tax; and supporting Proposition 32, which would have limited political contributions by way of payroll deductions. Proposition 30, which had backing from Gov. Jerry Brown (D), passed. Proposition 32, which took aim at labor unions’ political power, failed."

So they were on the "wrong" side of the issues so the libtards leftists fined them. I'd be willing to bet they are very uneven with who they go after. But the bros seem to have a lot of money and are choosing to spend it on restoring America and defeating socialism. They have my blessings. I feel like sending them a few bucks.

Neither of those are Koch groups. You're reading and believing conjecture. The best that these guessers have is that the heads of these organizations have affiliation, however vague, to the Koch brothers.

Leftie loons. Never bother to do the work.

"Instead of fostering a system that enables people to help themselves, America is now saddled with a system that destroys value, raises costs, hinders innovation and relegates millions of citizens to a life of poverty, dependency and hopelessness. This is what happens when elected officials believe that people's lives are better run by politicians and regulators than by the people themselves. Those in power fail to see that more government means less liberty, and liberty is the essence of what it means to be American. Love of liberty is the American ideal."

He talks a good game (for Americans who love language like that), and ignores all of the problems of Capitalism and our society. It's another "Government is the problem" meme from the Reagan days. That helps us out not at all and believe me, Koch, who is an elite, has plenty of thoughts on how you should live your life.

Care to name the regulations that 'relegates millions of citizens to a life of poverty?'

'maintained by billionaire industrialists'. Maintain: cause or enable to continue.

Seems I did read the story.

Koch: I'm Fighting to Restore a Free Society
Then he’s wasting his time and money, as America is currently a free society – in no need of ‘restoration,’

In fact, more Americans enjoy greater freedom today than at any time in this Nation’s history; and that freedom has never been more secure today than at any time in this Nation’s history.

If Koch wants to facilitate a free society, he should spend his time and money seeking to secure comprehensive civil liberties for gay Americans, freedoms conservatives fight to deny.

That's claptrap repeated from opensecrets. If you read the article they got their info from, its conjecture. Leftie loons never do the work. Believe everything they are told.

Sure, except economic freedom. But again, economics is not the forte of the left. It's amoral and hard to pin emotionally charged appeal in.

An investigation found another $4 million contribution from CPPR to another California-based committee. Neither contribution was properly reported, and under state law, the receiving committees will have to turn that cash — more than $15 million in all — over to the California general fund.

So an organization that can't follow rules; 'They have my blessings.'

PG&E in San Bruno, Ca didn't follow the rules, which killed 8 and injured 60. Do they have your blessing too? Perhaps they need your money, since they're facing a few BILLION in fines.

'economic freedom': Corporate America is sitting on >$100 Trillion in cash.

The Democrats stole the gubernatorial election here a few cycles back so liberals only use rules when it benefits them. Nice cheap shot though.

Koch: I'm Fighting to Restore a Free Society

Is that what he thinks he's doing? Interesting. I wonder how far he would have gotten had his Dad not built the company for him?

Yep, that is what he is doing.

Who else is supporting Liberty nowadays?

Was he supposed to abandon the oil business and start a banana plantation?

Charles Koch: I'm Fighting to Restore a Free Society - WSJ.com

I have devoted most of my life to understanding the principles that enable people to improve their lives. It is those principles—the principles of a free society—that have shaped my life, my family, our company and America itself.

Unfortunately, the fundamental concepts of dignity, respect, equality before the law and personal freedom are under attack by the nation's own government. That's why, if we want to restore a free society and create greater well-being and opportunity for all Americans, we have no choice but to fight for those principles. I have been doing so for more than 50 years, primarily through educational efforts. It was only in the past decade that I realized the need to also engage in the political process.

It's quite obvious to me why the bed wetters are so totally consumed with hatred for this man. I enjoyed the piece, and encourage anyone "sitting on the fence" regarding the Kock Bro's agenda to read it and make up your own mind.

This obviously excludes bed wetters, because they're programmed to reject information without thinking. Yet I'm sure we'll see plenty of their smarmy psuedointellectual parroting of "facts" found only on a Media Matters website, as opposed to reality.

I liked the part about all the jobs his companies support, including how many union jobs.

Since your post keyed 'regulation', my post wasn't a 'cheap shot'.

As a rich registered Republican, I can say without reservation that I didn't meet a regulation I didn't love. Regulation helped me eliminate competition.

Ask me how shocked I am that you do not understand economic freedom.

The Koch brothers are libertarians, pro gay rights and pro choice too.
