Multiple people, including a woman wearing a gorilla mask, threw eggs at Republican California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Videos of the incident appear to show an egg being thrown toward Elder as he walked through the Venice neighborhood with members of his campaign team during a trip to the community to address the homeless crisis. One of Elder’s staffers puts his arm on the Republican’s back and warns, “We’re getting egged from behind.”

Moments later, someone launched a second egg toward the candidate and his team. The video does not show whether Elder was hit by the eggs during the attack.

Several people became aggressive with Elder’s staff.

The woman in the gorilla mask appeared to slap a staffer in the face, while a man shouted at Elder that he is a “piece of sh**” as the candidate was escorted away from the situation.

Can any guess what would have happened if someone, wearing a gorilla mask had thrown eggs and attacked staffers of President Obama?

First the question of recall...

If Newsome doesn't get more than 50% of the total votes, then he is recalled and loses his seat....

He can have 49% of the citizen's vote, and lose his seat....

And the next person on the ballot running to replace him, with the most votes, becomes governor....

even if they only have a handful of votes, as long as they have more votes than the others running to replace Newsome.

I think there are +/-10 candidates running against Newsome, so if Elder beats the other 9 candidates running, he would become governor.....

So if Newsome gets only 49% of the vote, he's OUT.....

But if Elder gets say 12% of the vote, beating the other contestants who got 10%, or 8%, or 7% etc of the vote,

Elder wins the Governorship, with just 12% of the California voter's vote, and Newsome loses with 49% of Californians voting for him.

RECALLS ARE CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZY

And totally unfair for Californian voters, the way they are set up....it's simply UNDEMOCRATIC!

How long have you protested against this? Sounds awfully convenient, like you just realized the system could give CA a Republican governor.

Republicans are citizens just like democrats are, and when they feel the need to recall a governor, they go through the process to get it done. They cannot do it on their own and need democrats to pull it off. Obviously, they have a lot of democrat support.
