Let's discuss MAN.
What is MAN?
Gen 46:26 All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his
loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six;
Gen 12:5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all
their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in
Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of
Canaan they came.
Gen 46:15 These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padanaram,
with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty
and three.
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Ok. The complete man is a soul - a living creature.
A MAN IS A SOUL!!
Many stop right here. They have finished their studies and rest by claiming the
SPIRIT as being only the breath. But God did NOT stop here.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of
the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the
heart.
1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your
whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
Two witnesses here that state the same thing even though one on here has already
attempted to discredit the Book of Timothy.
MAN is a soul composed of the breath of life, a body of flesh made of dirt, and
a SPIRIT.
So? What is the SPIRIT in man?
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty
giveth them understanding.
Ecc 2:26 For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and
knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap
up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and
vexation of spirit.
1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which
is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Well, this doesn't appear to be rocket science.
God gives him understanding? The SPIRIT in man is what seperates the man from
the beast. It is his INTELLECT!!
Man's SPIRIT or mind is like a computer. The five senses are constantly
collecting data and pipelining it to the SPIRIT or mind of the man. Many things
form man's intellect or SPIRIT. His environment, those he comes in contact with,
his tutors, his family, his job, education, etc. All these things form a man's
personality and demeanor. It makes each and everyone of us unique individuals.
There is no need for me to discuss the body here. We all know the body rots and
returns to dust when the man dies. But what happens to the man's intellect or
SPIRIT when the man dies?
Ecc 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the
beast
that goeth downward to the earth?
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit
shall return unto God who gave it.
The SPIRIT returns to the God who gave it in the first place as stated above in
Job 32.8 and Ecc. 2:26.
BUT THE SPIRIT IS IN AN UNCONSCIOUS STATE!!
The brain has rotted. The five senses have ceased to function.
Job 14:21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought
low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
Psa 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day
his thoughts
perish.
Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any
thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Now let's see what happens when God CALLS YOU. Yes, it is GOD who calls. You
cannpt of yourself seek God for it is not in the carnal mind to do so. God calls
many but only a few are chosen
OK. Everyone agrees the Holy Spirit (God's spirit) moves in and dwells within
those whom God calls to His great service.
What happens?
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things
are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor
uncircumcision, but a new creature.
You become a new creature. Your mind is changed. Your personality is changed.
Your demeanor is changed.
YOU ARE QUICKENED!!!
1Co 15:36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
What does death mean here?
Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved
It is the FIRST death. God is almost totally oblivious to the death of the body.
It is spiritual death He is concerned with. All die the physical death of the
body - saint and sinner alike.
Is this a permanent condition? Not at all. There are conditions:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto
life, and few there be that find it.
You gotta walk the walk - not just talk the talk.
Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that
shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
You must endure (I like persevere but I'll accept the translation) unto the end.
The Holy Spirit can and will pack up His suitcase and move out if need be.
I haven't covered the prize you run for if you endure unto the end. This post is
long enough already.
