Except that is the real definition...the left took the name "liberal" in order to hide who they really are.....that definition you posted....has nothing to do with modern liberals....

To the modern "liberal" who is actually a statist...government isn't a necessary evil...it is their god.....and that any individual who denies their god will be punished......

It is......the left has taken the word "liberal" to hide who they really are.......now...since people know that "liberal" actually means statist....they are going back to the old word..."progressive" to hide their love of big government control over the individual.....and once people realize that "progressive" is still statism......they will change their name again......
