Liberals Cause Their Own Homeless Problem

What I've said all along and this article is the proof. And, it's not an article from Fox News. It is an article from the Atlantic, which leans left. Liberals have caused their very own problem. Same holds true with income inequality and a whole slew of other things.

What percentage of the homeless are veterans?

YOU are not doing shit other than whining like a little bitch on the internet. You're all talk, pussy.
What if I was doing those things….would I be helping the homeless?
(watch this folks…watch how this scared globalist pussy will avoid the question)

It largely begins with a choice. The question is what do we do with people who make the wrong choices?

For veterans we could stop doing the things that cause them to try and get the pictures out of their heads of what they have seen.

It is not a Left-Right issue. I'm usually fairly Liberal and the area I live in is also Liberal. We are having the same issue as many other places, housing is very expensive here and our liberal politicians want to change the laws to create more affordable housing. I am dead set against it in the best NIMBY tradition. I see no reason to change the neighborhood I've lived in for 40 years so some newcomer could buy a house here. If you can't afford to live here, don't. I'd love to move to the next town over but I can't afford to. That's on me, not on them.

In summary, I'm a Liberal opposing Liberals.

I partly agree with the article. American liberals aren't really "leftists" or socialists, they're just as committed to serving their own vested interests and that of their wealthy donors, at the expense of the public good, as right-wing Republicans are.

There are fewer homeless people in conservative, right-wing-run states and cities, not because there are higher wages and a lower cost of living (usually there aren't higher wages in Republican-run cities), but because conservatives make life impossible for the homeless, so they leave. The homeless are unable to be homeless in Republican-run cities, because of the strict policies that criminalize them, hence they get out of there and go to liberal-run cities.

"According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the national poverty rate was 11.2% in 2021, the same rate as in 2020. These states and territories have the highest percentages of poverty in the country: Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas, West Virginia, Alabama, Kentucky, the District of Columbia, South Carolina, and Oklahoma. REPUBLICAN 2017 BUDGET REALITY

The House Committee on the Budget reported a budget resolution for 2017 calling for trillions of dollars in cuts to programs serving vulnerable populations. Major cuts affecting low-income individuals include:

  • $2 trillion from Medicaid – up to $1 trillion from cutting the base program plus another $1 trillion from repealing the Affordable Care Act Medicaid expansion;
  • $887 billion from already-low non-defense discretionary funding levels, putting a broad array of programs serving low-income populations such as housing assistance, WIC, job training, and others at risk of deep funding cuts;
  • $185 billion from federal college aid for low-income students;
  • $157 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; and
  • $0.6 trillion from other income security programs, a category where most spending is for safety-net programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, child nutrition, Supplemental Security Income for the aged and disabled, Unemployment Insurance, refundable tax credits for low-income workers, and child care.

The housing first program in the state of Utah which was eliminating homelessness by housing the "houseless", was stripped of its funding by Republican politicians. All of the positive outcomes that were experienced as a result of housing the homeless, were reversed when the program was defunded.

Both Republicans and Democrats are part of the problem as to why we have homelessness in this country, BUT the Republicans are less likely than democrats to fund social programs that help the homeless and poor.

True socialists would simply allocate funds from the federal budget to build housing for the homeless around the country and would eliminate homelessness. A program would be created to house the homeless and provide them with the medical care that they need to get off of drugs. They would also have access to vocational job training and other opportunities for education. Public sector employment opportunities would be available to those who get clean and sober and want to go back to work.

Those who are completely dysfunctional and unable to stop abusing themselves with hard drugs would be institutionalized until they get rid of the substance abuse. Socialists wouldn't allow people to turn their new, modern, beautiful housing units into drug houses. So the ingrates that don't want to get back on their feet or the ones who just can't kick the habit, will be institutionalized, in a psyche-ward until they get better. That's how true socialists, and communists, would deal with homelessness and drug addiction. Barabing, baraboom. This isn't rocket science or nuclear physics.

Oh BTW, those who sell drugs, go to the firing squad. Dealing hard-narcotics like crack, meth, heroin, is a capital crime. How about that? Kill the dealers, decriminalize and treat the addicts.

Well don't look now but it's been going on without the homeless for decades now. When HUD decides to target an area for destruction, they waste no time destroying it by paying for their lowlifes TO live there. Dementia promised to put that on steroids as well.

Liberal policies have increased homelessness. It's not on the homeless, it is on the liberal policies which forced them into homelessness.

Liberal policies have increased homelessness and income inequality, that's why it is worse in the liberal cities and states. Liberal policies make living unaffordable.
