Mnuchin Says No Bailout for States With Badly Managed Budgets.

Sanctuary states shouldn't be getting any bailout money. There has to be consequences for illegal behavior.
we cannot assume the responsibility for under-funded state pensions

the good news is that we can count on Trump to stand firm on this

the better news is that this only really affects deep blue states like CA, IL, CT & NY

How many dogshit candidates got elected for promising people pensions they couldn't afford then stealing the money for other things? Government pensions are obscene and everyone who was ever involved in inflating them is a money launderer. We sure as hell don't want to use this crisis to sneak in state bailouts. You reap what you sow. Pay your own effin bills or lower your benefits. Just leave responsible states out of it.

Gee, the blue states pay in much more than the rather pathetic and incredibly sad red states; the blob is going to run up multiple trillions more in debt if that is the case.
Yo, Corn. Blue states pay more than red states because they make more. I thought that's what you socialists have been screaming about for years. Soak the rich. Make them pay their share. Now you're telling me you want poorer states to support richer states? Hypocrite much?

When I was a kid, every job offered a pension to workers after 25 years service. My mother's biggest argument against my father buying the restaurant was that he was only 5 years away from his pension at the factory where he had worked since the war.

By the time Reagan was done, pensions in the private sector were a thing of the past. Now, the only workers left with pensions are civil servants, and the right wants those to disappear too. Everyone should have a pension with long service. Especially since the workers are now so poorly paid that they need government assistance to keep food on the table. How can you save for retirement when you can't afford to eat today?

Just one of the many, many ways the Republican economy screws the workers in favour of the shareholers.

I'm all for unions as long as they have competition. There shouldn't be government unions because they don't have competition. Government union pensions are much too high and will eventually end up bankrupting every town and state in the US. Competition is the key. Right now, government unions are monopolies and should be broken up under anti trust laws. That and common sense.

I don't know how many times I have to say this.

States don't pay SHIT to the federal government. People and Businesses do through taxes. People receive money from the federal government through federal programs such as SS, Medicare, Medicaid, and the government spends money on Military bases and personel. Stop with the "Blue States pay more" shit! It has NOTHING to do with how a state is politically motivated. It has everything to do with resources and weather and business opportunities.

People move where there is high opportunity (resources) then when you get enough of a population center it turns democrat from republican. Politics follow the money. Not the other way around.

There should be no additional aid to those states that already receive more federal aid than they pay in taxes.

They are already freeloaders

Start with Kentucky

gee, I just retired a few years ago with a pension. I started working for that company in 1995. HAD absolutely nothing to do with Reagan. You're generalizing.

Pensions mostly went away because of 401K's that started in 1978 (During Jimmy Carter years). You know absolutely nothing. I can't ever find a post of yours that has any kind of accurate information.
