Neither party has a coherent, long term plan for COVID

The GOP and Trump have their thumbs up their assess as usual. This virus shows no signs of slowing down and the GOP response to this is “Derp. Meh. What does this have to do with sucking corporate lobbyist dick? What’s in it for us?”

They’re fucking useless.

The democrats House Bill is a step in the right direction, but it lacks any long term strategy. It’s just a band-aid. It doesn’t address how to stop the virus for the months to come.

Now some governors have more effective strategies for their states. Social distancing and contact tracing are key, but without real federal help, it won’t amount to much.

We are on our own folks.
More importantly, why would you think the politicians who know nothing, who have been relying on all these "experts" who have been consistently wrong since the very start of this entire ordeal.....

why would you think anyone of them would have a brilliant coherent policy?

We've been saying this from the start. None of you guys know diddly jack squat. None of you do. Know very little about this thing, and it takes sometimes years of research to find out.

Heck the CDC just realized a completely reversal of everything they've been saying, claiming now that Corona doesn't last that long on solid surfaces, suggesting that all this gloves and no-touch, and spraying Clorox on everything, has been a total waste.

You mindless lemmings on the left, basically had a total melt down, with little information, damaged millions of people's lives across this country, based on scant real evidence.

Time for the real men of the country, the men with balls and guts, and a bit of self dignity, to stand up to this nonsense.
How do you think the death rate will change if we reverse all quarantine and social distancing measures nationwide?

If someone is afraid they can stay home. Its not the governments job to babysit people and recommend they stay at home. The people and commerce can make their own decisions.

Everyone is going to get the Wuhan Chop Fluey sooner or later, all that can be hoped for is to "flatten the curve" so everyone doesn't get it all at once.

How can you create a "coherent" long term plan for something that is not completely defined?

Even if you made plans, they would be made obsolete constantly as new information comes out.

"Sticking to your guns" is what is making Blue State Governors look like despots, they are refusing to accept the fluid nature of the situation.

Plus more than likely any resurgence will be self limiting, as if there is an increase in cases (specifically serious cases) more people will choose to go back to a form of house lockdown voluntarily, some businesses will shut down or go to non contact voluntarily as well.

Your thread title is disingenuous.

Neither party has a coherent long term plan for anything, other than gaining and appeasing wealthy donors.
they want to please everyone all the time
No. They are only concerned with pleasing their wealthy donors.

This is why there stupidity...

The OP is wrong on one count Democrats has a plan... Listen to the CDC unbiased view take there recommendations on board and then try and do what they say within reason.

Example the CDC had a number of tollgates to get through to start opening the economy(Daily Growth, Testing...). A lot of Governors(both sides) took that advise seriously and are getting through a gate and then slowly opening there economy. Others have just ignored it and had a full opening with next to no restrictions...

There is this excuse of the economy... Sorry could someone tell me how much GDP Growth Percentage Points is Grandma life worth?

What's the Dim long term strategy for the flu?
Yet another dumbass Trumpette who thinks that COVID is like the flu.

To be fair, neither the Democrats nor the Republicans know what to do.

They are all just doing something in order to be doing something and hoping that they stumble upon something that works.

Of course, a year from now, we will learn that some measures actually promoted the spread of Covid-19, and we will learn that a lot of "experts" on both sides were wrong.

Certain elected politicians who (unwittingly) caused such unnecessary suffering should resign, but of course they won't. In fact, they may be reelected by the very people who suffered. There is no understanding human nature.

Of course billys OP is ridiculous as always but I really laughed when he said the house bill was a step in the right direction.
Billions to things completely non related. Billions to illegals. Amnesty. Release of violent felons. Billions to lobbyists. Yep, lobbyists get billions in the "heroes" act.
You cant make this up folks.

BTW, the duopoly never have a long term plan. Which is probably good because it would be a complete failure like their short term plans.

The plan is to reach herd immunity. Science shows it is not that deadly a disease for young people or even middle aged. Keep senior citizens isolated as much as possible and reopen the economy.

Meanwhile the Dem plan is for everyone, regardless if they would be affected by the virus or not, to huddle in their basements scared to go outside. To shutdown the entire economy and make everyone dependent on welfare checks. Checks the US government doesn’t even have the funds for, so they will just print more. Which in turn devalues and destroys the life savings of many Americans.

We do not know enough about this virus to have a firm plan. We do not kn ow how long any immunity lasts if you recovered from it. When & if we get a vaccine & how effective it is.

Will people abide by recommendation on PPE & social distancing? Can our schools open safely?

It is a mistake to push for opening everything & then run around trying to put out fires. How do you put out a fire? By shutting down an area?

I think we will have a year more to go at the least.

Either way, there is a need for another aid package. Trump says no. The Republican Senate said they want to wait. Thank God for Pelosi who as forced them to do it now.

If Trump has his way, 90,000 deaths will be less than half of what we will get yet this year. And businesses will still suffer & close.

Ahhhhhhhh remember the good ole days when we had 15 cases soon to be zero. Let's trust the fool that said that.

The CDC is just as biased as anyone else, assuming a mantra of neutrality is idiotic.

And evidently the economy is worth more than grandma dying of the flu, so there is a value to be applied.

So what you are saying is that no risk is worth it, and we should all hide in our houses and starve?

It has nothing to do with my disdain for that fat assed piece of shit Trump.

It has to do with where we are & what will happen.

Only a stupid fucking Trumpette would be happy thayt 90,000 people died and that Trump thinks another 90K would be ok if the economy improves in time for the election.

After all, it is more important to look good in friont of the cameras than other people's safety.

You really didn't expect either side to did you. This is a political football they can't punt back and forth like infrastructure and many other things.

Both side produced a plan...

Trump WH had one .
Here it is Document Viewer : NPR...
It is actually a good plan...
It follows a partial open & test, then open some more...
"In a call with governors, Trump said states should begin loosening restrictions after new COVID-19 cases have declined for least 14 days. Trump has repeatedly said that testing for coronavirus is a state responsibility."
Problem is Trump didn't even follow it. The WH is looking like they are giving up on Containment of the virus...

Democrats is similar in a lot of cases. Listen to the CDC but actually follow it... The Democrat plan is the internationally one followed. This is the main plan in Europe and Asia...

The crucial part of the plan is to have low enough numbers and enough testing.... There are States that meet this and there are states

Bullshit. it has everything to do with it.

How many people will die from a perpetual lockdown? How many will die because other medical care is limited, or people are too scared to go to an ER for a things like chest pains or stroke symptoms?

How many people are losing their livelyhoods?

You probably have a check coming in regardless, so you can afford to be a callous partisan asshole.

You moron, Trump threw out that plan.

Trump running from his responsibility by claiming everything is the Statew's rerspobsility is only duping dumbasses like you. If this were true, why did Truimp claim what a good job he ewas doing with tresting?

appeal to the masses, just because everyone is doing it, doesn't mean it works.
