Neither party has a coherent, long term plan for COVID

Actually the virus is slowing down even in places like New York and New Jersey some just don't want to admit it because it because it screwes up their partisan narrative. Now this does not mean everything is fine and back to normal but we are heading in the right direction.

Exactly why is it getting better?

We do not know enough about this virus to have a firm plan. We do not kn ow how long any immunity lasts if you recovered from it. When & if we get a vaccine & how effective it is.

Will people abide by recommendation on PPE & social distancing? Can our schools open safely?

It is a mistake to push for opening everything & then run around trying to put out fires. How do you put out a fire? By shutting down an area?

I think we will have a year more to go at the least.

Either way, there is a need for another aid package. Trump says no. The Republican Senate said they want to wait. Thank God for Pelosi who as forced them to do it now.

If Trump has his way, 90,000 deaths will be less than half of what we will get yet this year. And businesses will still suffer & close.

Ahhhhhhhh remember the good ole days when we had 15 cases soon to be zero. Let's trust the fool that said that.

You just love this because it hurts Trump. You are a fucking ghoul.

So what you are saying is that no risk is worth it, and we should all hide in our houses and starve?

It has nothing to do with my disdain for that fat assed piece of shit Trump.

It has to do with where we are & what will happen.

Only a stupid fucking Trumpette would be happy thayt 90,000 people died and that Trump thinks another 90K would be ok if the economy improves in time for the election.

After all, it is more important to look good in friont of the cameras than other people's safety.

Bullshit. it has everything to do with it.

How many people will die from a perpetual lockdown? How many will die because other medical care is limited, or people are too scared to go to an ER for a things like chest pains or stroke symptoms?

How many people are losing their livelyhoods?

You probably have a check coming in regardless, so you can afford to be a callous partisan asshole.

Trump's plan will only make it worse. Open up & risk more cases flooding the hospitals.

"Wow Marty, you really are dumber than shit.

One party controls the WH. One party has the power to institute a national plan.

Don't bother bringing your false equivalence "they're all bad" bullshit to the board.

The failure of leadership is Trump's responsibility to bear.

Stay in and cower down in fear then. We don't care.

You don't know that. And do you really expect people to stay in lockdown until a vaccine come out?

and do you expect people to be required to take that rushed vaccine?

You do know that the government will have to waive liability to anyone making said vaccine in such rushed conditions, right?

The failure of leadership is Trump's responsibility to bear.

Actually they don't have the power to implement a national plan, because they have no method of enforcment at the local level.

Unless you want to make violating those procedures federal crimes, which means federal agents have to enforce them.

That is how we combat the virus?

We combat a virus the same way we've been been combating viruses and other diseases for the past few millennia.

We stay away from other sick people.

That's a voluntary choice. We've never before have had to shut down a global economy to get people to do that.
And you think that an archaic society would help make that happen? You see how you don’t think this shit through?
You mean anarchic. "Archaic" means old. What you object to is a free society.

Fuck you. I object to Stalinism.

Our government needs to listen to their advice and then follow it.
Yes, exactly. But the results aren't in yet.
The results are in. They've been wrong about everything. The latest thing they were wrong about is the claim that the virus can be passed on by contact with surfaces.

and to be fair they could be wrong about this as well.

Everyone is expecting perfect information, like being a Deus Ex Machina narrator in a movie.

We are on our own folks.

Epiphany time for Billy. You're finally getting your head around the fact that government can't actually fix all your problems.

The government can't make your wife hot or make you look like Brad Pitt, they can't make your kids smarter or your dog win prizes for obedience.

They can't even keep you safe from natural disasters.
Let me ask you this: if the government dissolved tomorrow, how would that benefit you? You can’t answer that question of course. If this country descended into anarchy, you would be begging for social order. You can pretend you wouldn’t all you want. We both know the truth.
For one thing, I would have about $50,000 more in my pocket every year.

The GOP and Trump have their thumbs up their assess as usual. This virus shows no signs of slowing down and the GOP response to this is “Derp. Meh. What does this have to do with sucking corporate lobbyist dick? What’s in it for us?”

They’re fucking useless.

The democrats House Bill is a step in the right direction, but it lacks any long term strategy. It’s just a band-aid. It doesn’t address how to stop the virus for the months to come.

Now some governors have more effective strategies for their states. Social distancing and contact tracing are key, but without real federal help, it won’t amount to much.

We are on our own folks.
What's the Dim long term strategy for the flu?
Yet another dumbass Trumpette who thinks that COVID is like the flu.
Do TDS morons ever tire of using the same fallacies over and over again? COVID is like the flu in a lot of ways - all the ways that matter. In fact, it's far less lethal than the flu.

More importantly, why would you think the politicians who know nothing, who have been relying on all these "experts" who have been consistently wrong since the very start of this entire ordeal.....

why would you think anyone of them would have a brilliant coherent policy?

We've been saying this from the start. None of you guys know diddly jack squat. None of you do. Know very little about this thing, and it takes sometimes years of research to find out.

Heck the CDC just realized a completely reversal of everything they've been saying, claiming now that Corona doesn't last that long on solid surfaces, suggesting that all this gloves and no-touch, and spraying Clorox on everything, has been a total waste.

You mindless lemmings on the left, basically had a total melt down, with little information, damaged millions of people's lives across this country, based on scant real evidence.

Time for the real men of the country, the men with balls and guts, and a bit of self dignity, to stand up to this nonsense.
How do you think the death rate will change if we reverse all quarantine and social distancing measures nationwide?

The same way it will if we don't. People will die in quarantine too. We know this because the suicide hotlines have been blowing up.

People are not designed to stay in isolation.

Also we know that as a nation enters economic decline, people die.

Further, we also know from Sweden, Japan and Florida, that none of the doom predictions happened.

So I would suggest there is a higher risk of deaths by staying in lock down.

How can you create a "coherent" long term plan for something that is not completely defined?

Even if you made plans, they would be made obsolete constantly as new information comes out.

"Sticking to your guns" is what is making Blue State Governors look like despots, they are refusing to accept the fluid nature of the situation.

This is why there stupidity...

The OP is wrong on one count Democrats has a plan... Listen to the CDC unbiased view take there recommendations on board and then try and do what they say within reason.

Example the CDC had a number of tollgates to get through to start opening the economy(Daily Growth, Testing...). A lot of Governors(both sides) took that advise seriously and are getting through a gate and then slowly opening there economy. Others have just ignored it and had a full opening with next to no restrictions...

There is this excuse of the economy... Sorry could someone tell me how much GDP Growth Percentage Points is Grandma life worth?

The CDC is just as biased as anyone else, assuming a mantra of neutrality is idiotic.

And evidently the economy is worth more than grandma dying of the flu, so there is a value to be applied.

Anything that gets funding from the government, is going to have influence from the government. Why left-wingers can't understand that, is beyond me.

We have a phrase, "the golden rule, is whoever has the gold makes the rules", and while that sarcastic, it's true. Whoever is paying your wage, makes the rules.

It is a virus that can kill weak or elderly people just like the flu

what is the difference?

Aside from accidents, most things kill the elderly more often than the young.

I'd love to know which talk radio show is telling these Trumpsters these fantasies about COVID and the flu, but I know they'd never tell me.

Sounds like that's your partisan narrative, and it sounds like some weak ass gas lighting based on nothing.

Now this does not mean everything is fine and back to normal but we are heading in the right direction.

Your lips to god's ears, I suppose.

The numbers say you're wrong. just an observation
No they don’t.
Yeah, the virus is slowing down, you can wish all you want.

More gas lighting.

My opinions based on what I hear and read if you think things are getting worse so be it no skin off my back.
