Once again I am ashamed of the Republicans

One would think that the Speaker of the House or the Senate majority leader could have showed up in France, but no they did nothing. As for the administration, who expected anything else? I guess Jake Tapper did, now he knows, or should but I am thinking as with all liberals all Obama has to say is something along the line, "GOP House majority Whip Spoke at White Supremacist Confernece" and Tapper will forget all about this incident.

Jake Tapper: I'm ashamed by U.S. leaders' absence in Paris

I say this as an American -- not as a journalist, not as a representative of CNN -- but as an American: I was ashamed.

I certainly understand the security concerns when it comes to sending President Barack Obama, though I can't imagine they're necessarily any greater than sending the lineup of other world leaders, especially in aggregate.

There were mass rallies when 9-11 happened. I went to the one at the Seattle Center right after 9-11. It was huge. There were rallies all over America. Well more like flower vigils, candle light vigils etc.

I don't know of even one leader or their administration from other nations who showed up here to join with us.

Yet Obama or someone from the administration is supposed to go to France.

I think that people are holding our president and administration to a higher standard and I don't think it's fair.

Remind me... who did the French send after the Boston Marathon bombing?

Or 9-11. Obama is being attacked for doing something no other leader did when we were attacked by terrorists.

That moment when you should be ashamed by all of your elected officials....

What's with these RW nutters that think they can tell Obama where he needs to be?

He needs to go down to the border, he needs to go to France, he needs to get off the golf course....Geez! :p

Can you imagine the OUTRAGE that would be coming from those asshole Republicans in Congress and on FOX had Obama packed up the entire administration and they all went to Paris.

Oh the costs for transportation. The costs for lodging. Food. Oh the fucking Republican outrage would have gone on for weeks.

Had Obama went to Paris.

As it stands now, the outrage over NOT going will last for weeks and weeks.
Maybe a Congressional investigation led by that famous car thief investigator that never finds wrongdoing anywhere that he can prove.

Fucking Republicans are an embarrassment to the entire nation.

That would not have happened in my opinion. And if it did then the Republicans would certainly be in the wrong. Interesting that you have not one word of condemnation against the people who should have sent someone other then an Ambassador, especially considering Holder was already in France.

Tapper isn't exactly a rightwing spoke person.

Someone did go then. Which is more than what France or any other nation did after 9-11 and the Boston Marathon bomber.

Sorry....it is up to the President to handle foriegn policy.....not Congress......
True.....but it is nice to get as much visable support as possible. Again, the more I think about this, the more I agree that the President blew it.

Good point, FW.
Republican leaders could have just as easily attended.
I've even said that I think Hillary, if still SoS, would have went.
Just a recognizable face...... that's all I ask

Jake Tapper is an A**hole! It is NOT the role of Congress to represent the USA in foreign affairs --- that is a function of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH.

Holder was in Paris at the time. Why didn't he attend?

Because, like Barry Hussein, he supports Islam and could not be bothered with attending the massive farce.

There are indications of sleeper cells being awakened for direct action in France. Now is not the time to send our entire leadership into that box. That would be incredibly stupid, and it would place the lives of innocents in the line of fire.

Oh please, you know you'd be bitching about us being in a socialist country and go back to eating "freedom fries, and freedom toast." :D

Are you that stupid? Yes, of course.
First off, already posted was that Chirac was the first foreign leader to come to the US after 9/11, like right after.
Second, even if no other leader came, so what?
Third, there were 40 world leaders to show their opposition to terrorism and support for the people of France. It wasnt a flash mob that just showed up. They had planned it and announced it. And yet Obama couldnt even send Biden, much less go himself. Why not? What was so pressing that he couldn't go off to Paris for one fucking day and show that America stands with France against terrorism?

Bullshit.
If Netanyahu was going going then you know it had to be safe.

Obviously Obama was worried about his travel expense. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ouch that hurt.
