Perplexed, I asked David how this seemingly contradictory combination was even possible.

Stating the truth is not hate, little boy. Allowing horrible crimes against humanity without so much as a word is to allow hate. Advocating for such actions is TO hate. Hater.

My point remains unchallenged: Belafonte's conclusion, which you approved, was based on the 3 fallacies mentioned above. In other words, his conclusion was flawed.
As for your new claim. blaming Israel for the plight of those hapless Gazans, PA President Abbas has a more honest appraisal:

“It was possible for us to avoid all of that, 2,000 martyrs, 10,000 injured, 50,000 houses (destroyed),” Abbas told Palestine TV in remarks broadcast Friday. He said Hamas had insisted on discussing demands first before ending the war, which only served to prolong the violence needlessly.
