What does "compulsory" mean at any rate? NOTHING in public schools is "compulsory" unless we start forcing families to send their children. We don't. They can homeschool, private school, whatever.

When I was in HS it was required to take at least 2 years of math, 2 of a foreign language, US history, English but you say those are not compulsory?

And home schoolers are required to follow the state education curriculum.

So there is no requirement for any courses in anything in your state public education curriculum.

So kids can do nothing but show up for study hall for 4 years and still get a diploma
