Private Miami school refuses to employ anyone who has been vaccinated for COVID

The school follows bad science, but that is the directors' right.
It’s bad science to not want to subject yourself to an experimental vaccination made by a globalist corporation that has already been fined millions of dollars for ethics violations? Especially if you are young and healthy and have nothing to fear from WuFlu?

Huh.
But that is not so, my friend. Huh.
So did you let a multinational corporation inject their juice into your body?

Of course you did, because you’re a good little sheep.

If he did, he's smart. If you didn't, you're stupid.

As for me, I got my vaccination as soon as I could.

You see, I'm old enough to remember the fear surrounding small pox and polio. They were invisible enemies that could kill you or cripple you or the people you loved. People were so glad to get their vaccinations back then so they could live relatively free from fear from that point onward.

Here's my view, and I mean exactly what I'm about to say. If conservatives didn't want the vaccination, and the end result was that only they could get sick and die, I wouldn't give a tinker's damn if they ended up dying by the hundreds of thousands. I would never shed a metaphoric tear for even one of them. Unfortunately, people who are intentionally unvaccinated can catch the virus and pass it on to people who are still waiting for their chance at getting their shots. That's unacceptable to me and a whole hell of a lot of other people. In other words, if you want to play Russian roulette with your own life, go for it, but you don't have the right to point the damn gun at someone else's head and pull the trigger.
It’s pretty embarrassing you lefties think that young healthy people are dying from WuFlu. They aren’t, never have been, and they won’t. All the people at risk are old, and/or obese. Kids certainly have zero reason to get a vaccine, especially since we don’t know what long term effects it may have.

But it's hypocritical, and not legally consistent, to have it one way. ie if they can discriminate against people who don't have a vaccine, they should be allowed to discriminate against those who do.
Nonsense.

No, it's not. The way we do anti-discrimination laws is, supposedly, target neutral. For example, according to civil rights laws, it's illegal to discriminate based on religious faith. That means an employer can't refuse to hire someone based on their religious faith, regardless of what it is. They can't demand that applicants follow a specific religion. Nor can they prohibit them from following a religion. The point is, they can't take religion into account in their hiring decisions.

If you're saying that employers can't make employment decisions based on vaccination status, then it has to go both ways. Saying that they can discriminate against anti-vaxxers, but not pro-vaxxers is entirely hypocritical. It would be like saying that you can't discriminate against Christians, but Muslims are fair game.

I did not address the legality of it herer. My point is that it is wrong and stupid.

Sure. I agree. But that's a subjective evaluation. The question posed by the school's publicity stunt is whether that kind of discrimination should be allowed. I think it should. But it's hypocritical, and not legally consistent, to have it one way. ie if they can discriminate against people who don't have a vaccine, they should be allowed to discriminate against those who do.
We will have to agree to disagree then. But on the point that it is a publicity stunt, I do agree. But their stunt comes at a price and the children and staff will pay it.

You need to stop listening to Sean Hannity, Bubba. And I will add that getting Covid is not a matter of either dying or recovering. Many, young and old alike suffer long term health effects-the long haulers. Please show me a sign that you are not so fucking out of touch that you do not know that.

They are false equivalencies as the 1905 Supreme Court case from Mass illustrates. ALL rights are not absolute and subject to reasonable regulation. The State has a "police power," and even in 1905 the science of vaccinations were that the personal risks generally were hugely outweighed by the overall public benefit. Although the "school's" argument is not addressed in the case, the school literally argues children's reproductive systems can be affected by the vaccine, but "the school" doesn't cite scientific data. And an employer cannot rescind employment because you take a generally prescribed medication that doesn't have wierd side effects. Xanex was the poster child.

I don’t listen to Sean Hannity.

Such cases are rare. The media hypes them up for fear porn, and idiots like you get off on it.

The school itself is bullshit. From their own site:
We value individuality and honor the freedom to be our true selves. We do not mandate vaccines and accept religious exemption.
Mandating no vaccines is not valuing individuality (nor "honoring freedom" wtf?)
And the State likely requires them to accept religious exemptions.
There is no one size fits all to vaccines. This is why we follow the Florida law and allow our parents to complete a medical or religious exemption form to opt out of the school vaccination program.
These idiots are too dumb for school.

Stupid spoiled brats catering to stupid spoiled brat parents. They need an island.. preferably a submerged one..

Yes, they have. Clearly their mortality rate is far less than older overweight people, but they can still get sick and die from the virus. My guess is that good parents won't summarily dismiss the risk just because it's not as high as it would be for their parents.

This is where the war against stupid is waged. You're either for us having a future or you're for stupid and having none.

This is what happens when educators listen to misinformation on FOX news. Idiots like Hannity and Carlson spread lies on a daily basis.

Apparently, the school wants to get sued.

Sued for what?

thehawk is that out of touch. Many young and middle-aged covid infected patients will have very serious long-haul conditions throughout their lives.
