Two years into Obama's presidency, Right-wingers were saying it was now Obama's economy.
This means that two years into Rick Snyder's governorship, it is now his bankruptcy of Detroit.
The difference? Republican Rick Snyder has had a complete Republican majority in the State House and Senate, with no one to obstruct a thing.

It seems to me all the right wingers in this thread are missing the point. The original post suggests that it is hypocritical to blame Obama for the economy after he was in office only two years and inherited a seriously messed up economy from GW Bush's administration, while at the same time not blaming the current Republican administration in Detroit for an economy it has had for 2 years and inheritied from another administration. And, as well, blaming Obama for a poor economy when he not only inherited it from someone else, but has to struggle with an obstructionist Senate and Congress in order to get anything passed to help improve things, while at the same time, not blaming the Republican administration in Detroit for not fixing the problem even though they don't have to fight the current government there in order to get bills passed.
It seems again and again, the right wingers are unable to read or understand anything beyond the literal and that things have to be spelled out for your understanding like using alphabet blocks with pre-schoolers.

I am always amused how conservatives vilify unions and public workers.
Let's be honest what happened here. Once upon a time, the private sector had good wages because of unionization or the threat of unionization. The Wealthy paid a healthy share of the taxes, as they should. There were tariffs in place that protected our industries (vital to our national defense and economy) from unfair foreign competition. You had a vibrant middle class, Mom could stay home with the kids while Dad worked, people could enjoy vacations.
Then these idiots went along with the Plutocrat's oky-dokes.
"Give up your unions, and your right to collectively bargain. Well recognize you for your hard work and merit. Well use nice sounding terms like right to work and At Will employment to describe this."
"Dooooooy, Oky-doke!" said the middle class.
So they find themselves working harder for less money, and eventually get put out on the street at 50 because the company can always find someone younger who'll work cheaper.
Give up your Union Medical Plans, and go with these company Medical Plans instead!

It isn't any more "delusional" than blaming every economic woe in the country on Obama (as well as every other kind of problem as well) when Obama inherited those economic ( and other) problems from the previous administration. And that is the point of the original post which you are totally missing. Why should Obama 'own' all the problems in the US and the Republican administation in Michigan not 'own' the economic problems in Detroit?
